The nanny, who abducted three children in the Surulere area of Lagos State on April 7 was not alone in the criminal act, as it has been found out that her husband, Waheed Kareem was the mastermind behind the kidnap and other deal they have been involved in.

According to the nanny, whose real name is Funmilayo Adeyemi, 35, from Osun State confessed that her entire family members were involved in the act – As, they had previously kidnapped two kids- Rapheal and Michael, in the Magodo area of Lagos State, before this before this Orekoya kidnap.
She was caught and paraded at the Lagos State Police Command Headquarters in Ikeja, and confessed that the Orekoya’s paid a ransom of N2m, adding that her husband gave her N30,000 out of the proceed.
According to her, she got the nanny’s job through her brother-in-law and his wife, who were always online to track posts.
“On Wednesday, their father and mother went to work. I put the little one on my back, while I held the others by the hands, telling them that I wanted to buy them something. We boarded a vehicle to Ojuelegba and from there, I took another bus to Iyana Ipaja and contacted my husband.
“I took them home, where they stayed with me in one of the rooms. I bought cereal for the 11-months-old baby; he was always fed with pap at his mother’s place. I gave the others normal food. They always watch cartoon on the television; they never missed home.
“My husband told me that he wanted to collect a token from the parents, but the following day, I found out that the kidnappers demanded N15m.
“I challenged my husband for asking for such a big sum. He said I should shut up because I had already fulfilled my part and that it was time for them to do theirs. Later, I heard in the news that he had reduced it to N13m.”
Adeyemi, who felt nothing after kidnapping the kids until she saw the mother of the victim’s wept on a national television, said her brother-in-law, Hakeem Kareem; her husband, Waheed Kareem; her sister-in-law, Ajoke Oseni, were involved in the Orekoya kidnap.
She added that she was in a fan repairer’s workshop when she was arrested by the police, while adding that her husband fled on seeing her been taken away by police officers.
Na wa o – Now, she cooling her heels in cell, and where is her mastermind husband now? – a lesson for those weak willed women out there or what do you think???

MC Galaxy attacked at Shizzi's studio by Davido and his driver

An incident happened 2 days that a few industry people have called my attention to and want it public so it will not repeat itself. Sekem crooner MC Galaxy was attacked and badly injured on Wednesday night April 15th at producer Shizzi's studio in Lekki. According to a reliable industry source, MC Galaxy, Davido (they have collaborated before) B-Red, Shizzi, Davido's driver, a guy named Lati and other HKN members were at Shizzi's studio working and laughing when suddenly things turned ugly.

According to someone who witnessed the beat down, trouble started after MC Galaxy told B-Red that he (Galaxy) was more popular than him (B-Red). B-Red didn't agree and they went back and forth. Then an HKN Gang member, who is a Ghanaian artist, told MC Galaxy that he was not funny as a comedian. MC Galaxy replied, telling him that he was an unknown artist, and they went back and forth yabbing each other. They said all of a sudden Davido came out from the studio and asked MC Galaxy to leave. Continue...

"David didn't like that Galaxy was yabbing his boys and asked him to leave. Before Galaxy could react, David hit him on the back. Then his driver, Lati, took over, punching Galaxy and then hit him on the head with an Orijin bottle. B-Red didn't touch Galaxy and Shizzi was very upset about what was happening in his studio and tried to stop the fight. Shizzi was really upset that Galaxy was attacked. If you see MC Galaxy's eyes now"
I contacted MC Galaxy to confirm he was attacked and he confirmed it but didn't want to talk much about the incident.
"Yes, I was attacked by Davido, his driver also broke a bottle on my head. Davido is someone I love and I am surprised he did this. His manager Kamal has called to apologize to me but I would rather not have this in the public." he told LIB

Restriction of movement continues during environmental sanitation - Lagos govt

The Lagos state government says restriction of Movement during the monthly sanitation exercise is still in force. According to a post on their Facebook page, a federal high court today granted a stay of execution on the March 16th High court verdict nullifying the restriction of movement during environmental sanitation exercise in the state. This implies that until the appeal by the state govt is heard, the nullification of restriction of movement cannot be enforced. So stay at home, people! :-)

Buhari, Ezekwesili, Adichie and Shekau Make Time 100 Most Influential Persons

buhari-360x225
President-elect Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), former Minister of Education and an advocate of the BringBackOurGirlsGroup, Mrs. Obiageli Ezekwesili; award-winning novelist, Chimamanda Adichie, and leader of the Boko Haram terrorist group, Abubakar Shekau, have made the TIME’s list of 100 most influential people in the world.

The TIME 100 is an annual list of 100 most influential people in the world whose works are changing the world, regardless of the consequences of their actions.
According to Aryn Baker, TIME’s Africa Bureau Chief, Buhari made history in March by becoming the first candidate to oust a sitting Nigerian President through the ballot box.
“Now he has to live up to voters’ expectations. From battling the Boko Haram insurgency to tackling endemic corruption, Buhari has many challenges ahead. The greatest may be overcoming his past as a military ruler, who seized power in 1983.
“Already the born-again democrat is demonstrating the inclusivity necessary to lead a nation driven by ethnic and religious tension. It’s a promising start for a President-to-be, who wants to leave a legacy to match the historic conditions of his election.”
A Ugandan activist, Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe, had this to say about Ezekwesili:
“It has been a year, and the girls (Chibok girls) haven’t been rescued, but she has made a difference by speaking about it. Not just speaking but shouting. I know some people will say she is too loudmouthed. The loud mouth is needed. People hear it.”
The deputy Managing Director of TIME, Radhika Jones, described Chimamanda Adichie, as a “conjurer of character” saying:
“It’s the rare novelist, who in the space of a year finds her words sampled by Beyoncé, optioned by Lupita Nyong’o and honoured with the National Book Critics Circle Award for fiction,” she said.
And the Boko Haram boss, Abubakar Shekau, was described as the “scourge of Africa” by Gen. Carter Ham(retd.), a former Commander of US Africa Command from 2011 to 2013.
That’s definition suits Sha=ekau well, but do you think he should have made the list – looks like encouraging evil to flourish or what do you think???

Pres. Jonathan breaks silence, speaks on why he conceded defeat

President Jonathan has given his reason for conceding defeat to President elect, Gen Buhari during the March 28th Presidential election. The President said he decided to concede to avoid a collective tragedy. He said there has to be a nation before any personal ambition can be fulfilled and that for him, what comes first is the nation before ambition. Pres Jonathan said this when he received the new French Ambassador to Nigeria, Denis Guaer (pictured left) at the state house yesterday April 16
"Since I assumed duty, I have been involved in quelling political crises in some African countries and I know what they passed through and what some are still going through. If you scuttle a system for personal ambition, it becomes a collective tragedy. You need to have a nation before you can have an ambition. It should always be the nation first. You don’t have to scuttle national progress for personal ambition. Democracy has to be nurtured to grow. Strong democratic institutions are the backbone and future of our democracy. They must be protected and nurtured. As for me, as a matter of principle, it is always the nation first" he said.
