WHAT IS YOUR PRIORITY?

But what things were gain to me, those I counted loss for Christ. PHILIPPIANS 3 :
7.
READ : PHILIPPIANS 3 : 10 - 15 : 10 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and
the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; 11 If by any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead. 12 Not as though I had already attained, either
were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus. 13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, 14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. 15 Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be
thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.
MESSAGE :
In the category of the early Apostles, Apostle Paul could be called a latecomer. He was not privileged to be among the direct disciples of Jesus Christ. Nevertheless, this latecomer did more exploit than all the Apostles that were before him. By the time he was through with his period of preparation, the handkerchief of Paul was already performing wonders. It is not how early you begin that matters, but your level of commitment, determination and the amount of sacrifice you make for God. Apostle Paul made a rugged determination to forget his societal status, he left his profession because he knew that time was not on his side. It is not great events that make great people, but great decisions. Apostle Paul decided to count all his gains as loss for the sake of Christ. He abandoned all the self-glory and carried his cross and followed Jesus. The reason why many people have not been able to manifest the way God expects them to is that they are not ready to burn the bridges behind them. To become a divine champion, you must take a rugged determination to set your priorities in order, while others are wasting their time with frivolities, you must invest your time in personal spiritual development. The future belongs to those who prepare for it. You have to set your mind on
certain things you want to see happen in your life. Apostle Paul pursued his goals relentlessly and nothing ever distracted him from the ultimate picture. There are many people who are far from their miracles because they have refused to let go. There is nothing I left for the sake of the ministry that God has not compensated me for with something much better. You have to make up your mind to forget those average goals and press forward for greater exploits in life. I made up my mind a very long time ago that I would not be an ordinary person. The choice is yours, to be or not to be? I made up my mind that I will be God’s choice forever. This is why I cannot take the grace of God upon my life for granted, because I know that the moment you remove God from my life, there will be nothing left. You must make up your mind that your priorities will be set
right. Crave excellence and don’t settle for less.
Be a standard for the world to behold in holiness and righteousness. Make up your mind that no
matter what the cost is, you will pay it to be God’s favourite. One thing you can be sure of is that nobody ever gives up something for Christ and not be rewarded here on earth with the assurance of
eternity. There is nothing in this world that can ever be measured with the salvation that comes through
Jesus. In comparison, there is no basis for comparing the worth of this world to the reward of eternal life. The glory of God that would be revealed to us is far beyond any possible acquisition by the works of man.
ACTION POINT : Father, let my life be lived for
Your glory.

ARE YOU OVERCOMING?

Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us. Romans
8:37
Read: John 16:31-33
16:31 Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?
16:32 Behold, the hour cometh, yea, is now come,
that ye shall be scattered, every man to his own,
and shall leave me alone: and yet I am not alone,
because the Father is with me.
16:33 These things I have spoken unto you, that
in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall
have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have
overcome the world.
MESSAGE
God, In His Word, states that everyone who will
live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.
The experience of persecution is part of our
heritage as believers in Christ Jesus. The world
will treat you in a cruel manner simply because of
your faith. They will do many things to hurt you
simply because you have chosen to live righteous.
There are a lot of prices to pay for being a
disciple of Jesus Christ, however, the benefits of
following Christ far outweighs its cost. If you truly
serve God the way you should, the world will
persecute you. That is why I pity those people
who live amiable with all and sundry. If you are a
genuine believer and the world speaks so well of
you and loves you so much, you have to be
careful.
"For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ
also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that
ye should follow his steps" 1 Peter 2:21
Following the footsteps of Jesus may involve
sufferings of all kinds. There are many people
who say they are called into ministry, and they
want to start the ministry by having all the
comforts of life. They want offices that are fully
air-conditioned; they want official cars, a place
where their needs can be regularly guaranteed. Of
course, there is absolutely nothing wrong with
having all these, but it should not become a
condition for our response to the calling of God
upon our lives. Nobody who is really devoted to
serving the Lord will escape the kind of
persecutions that people like David, Jeremiah,
Daniel, Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego went
through. David was persecuted because he killed
a giant that Saul was unable to handle. Jeremiah
was beaten and cast into prison because he
declared the absolute Word of God to a sinful
generation. Preaching the truth will always attract
persecution, but you can be sure that the blood of
those you told the truth would not be demanded
from you. Daniel faced a lot of problems simply
because he distinguished himself among the
governors. Shedrach, Meshach and Abednego
were cast into the burning furnace simply
because they refuse to compromise and bow to
other gods.
"Nay, in all these things we are more than
conquerors through him that loved us" Romans
8:37
This portion of the scripture tells us that there is
no amount of pressure from the pit of hell that
can take us away from the love of God. David
was a conqueror because God did not stop with
him until he got to the throne. Daniel was a
conqueror because no king ever served in his life
time without having to recourse with him. The
same Hebrew boys that were cast into the fiery
furnace were the same boys whose God was
declared the only One whom the whole nation
must worship. The Lord commands us to rejoice
when we go through trials of life, because great is
our reward. People may say all kinds of evil
against you. They may hate you. They may decide
not to involve you in any beneficial thing, just to
put you off. Do not fret, because you will laugh
last.
Prayer Point:
Father, please, strengthen me that I may never
bow to the pressures of life.

WHO IS MY NEIGHBOUR?

Let brotherly love continue. Hebrew 13:1
Read: Luke 10:30-37 (KJV)
30 And Jesus answering said, A certain man went
down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him half dead.
31 And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side. 32 And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the other side.
33 But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he was: and when he saw him, he
had compassion on him,
34 And went to him, and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.
35 And on the morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever
thou spendest more, when I come again, I will repay thee.
36 Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
37 And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him, Go, and do thou likewise.
MESSAGE
Love is the foundation upon which relationships are built. If your life will please God, then love is
one action you must always practice. One of the basic principles of love is showing care for others.
If you say you love, and you don’t show how much you care, your love isn’t genuine. Brotherly love should not only be restricted to the household of Christ, You must extend love beyond those you personally know. You need to show care to strangers too. At every given point in time, you must help those you come across to the best of your ability. When it becomes necessary, you must go the extra mile to show love to people, regardless of whether they deserve it or not. The very heart cry of Jesus is that we continue in love because we are partakers of His
divine nature. Jesus Christ demonstrated the sacrificial love of giving himself for the benefit of those who did not deserve His love. Our Bible reading gives a clear picture of the kind of love that must not be mentioned among believers – the lip service kind of love, ‘missing in time of need’ kind of love et cetera. Love, is a divine nature and since we have the mind of Christ, the love of Christ should be shared among us. When a person is driven by love, he will find it easy to apply the love of God in his behaviour towards others within his environment and also those outside his
environment. There are people who claim to love Jesus, but they hate everyone around them. They suspect everyone around them; this is not the nature of Christ. The love of God will not make you condemn others or judge them. Jesus wants us to love our neighbours; that person next door, that staff in your office, that sinner on the way, that child with no one to run to, that window who does not know where the next meal is coming from. Criticism and condemnation is not a reflection of the mind of Christ, strife and division among brethren is not the nature of Christ, but of the devil. Love will always attract a beautiful attitude.
Love was one of the hallmarks of the early
apostles; they did everything in the spirit of love. The early church loved each other so much that everybody’s needs were met. When there is love, there will be an elimination of jealousy and envy, whatever you do will be done in the best interest
of others. When in love, we will no longer focus on just thinking about ourselves, but about the good of the other fellow. You must always have the desire to help people and add value to the lives of
those around you. In 1st Samuel 18:1-4, the
scripture tells us about the relationship that
existed between Jonathan and David. Jonathan loved David the same way he loved himself. Jonathan made out time to meet the needs of David, he never bothered about himself. He just wanted to do what was right for the relationship; he was all out for the protection of David. Where there is love, there will be trust.
Where there is trust, there will be growth. Love will bring commitment to the common good of all.
Key Point:
Love is not easily provoked.

YOU NEED ENEMIES TO SUCCEED IN LIFE

When I woke up I was pondering about life, I discovered that:
Sometimes, to succeed in life you need ENEMIES.... Yes!!!
You need people who will mock you, so that you can run to God.
You need people who will try to intimidate you, so that you can be courageous.
You need people who will say "NO" so that you can learn how to be independent...I mean how to do it yourself.
You need people who will disappoint you so that you can put all your trust in God alone.
You need people who will work towards you loosing that job, so that you can start your own big business.
You need people who will sell your 'Joseph' so that 'you' can get to Egypt and be a Prime Minister in a strange land of captivity.
You need a cruel landlord, so that you won't be too comfortable in someone else's house, then you can build your own house on time.
But sometimes, when we are disappointed, we feel very bad and we tend to remain on that spot. Not knowing that the end-point of disappointment is the beginning of your accomplishments.
Understand this, "that every disappointment you once had came with a blessing!" However, it is not everyone that partakes in this blessing that I'm talking about.
You cannot see a new OPEN door while you are still putting all your attention, time and energy in trying to force the closed one to open.
And again I say, "No disappointment can ever come without an attached blessing!"
So, when the disappointment come, thank God for it and tell "HIM" to open your eyes to see the new blessing that HE has for you!
Disappointment is PHASE1 while accomplishment is PHASE2.I doubt if one can jump the protocols.
That is why it is called BREAKTHROUGH Something must BREAK so that you can go THROUGH!
Encourage someone today....you are lifted.
Please don't thank me for this post but thank God for receiving it.
Bless others by sharing this. For more information visit nigeriantopsecret.blogspot.com

CATALYSTS FOR MIRACLES

Jesus said unto him, if thou canst believe, all things are possible to him that believeth. Mark
9:23
Read: Mark 9:19-29 (KJV 19 He answereth him, and saith, O faithless generation, how long shall I be with you? how long shall I suffer you? bring him unto me. 20 And they brought him unto him: and when he saw him, straightway the spirit tare him; and he fell on the ground, and wallowed foaming. 21 And he asked his father, How long is it ago since this came unto him? And he said, Of a child. 22 And ofttimes it hath cast him into the fire, and into the waters, to destroy him: but if thou canst do any thing, have compassion on us, and help
us.
23 Jesus said unto him, If thou canst believe, all
things are possible to him that believeth.
24 And straightway the father of the child cried
out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou
mine unbelief.
25 When Jesus saw that the people came running
together, he rebuked the foul spirit, saying unto
him, Thou dumb and deaf spirit, I charge thee,
come out of him, and enter no more into him.
26 And the spirit cried, and rent him sore, and
came out of him: and he was as one dead;
insomuch that many said, He is dead.
27 But Jesus took him by the hand, and lifted him
up; and he arose.
28 And when he was come into the house, his
disciples asked him privately, Why could not we
cast him out?
29 And he said unto them, This kind can come
forth by nothing, but by prayer and fasting.
MESSAGE
In the Kingdom of God, there is no room for
impossibility. Impossibilities only exist in the
realm of the physical. As far as the dictionary of
heaven is concerned, everything is possible.
“For with God nothing shall be impossible”
Luke 1:37
It doesn’t matter how hopeless a situation can
be, there is hope in Jesus. Without miracles,
signs and wonders, there will never be any
credibility to the Christian faith. In the realm of
the miraculous, events that are contrary to
natural laws can take place. This is because the
birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ are
miracles. But, to operate in the miraculous, you
need to first find your identity in Christ Jesus.
Your newness in Christ Jesus will give you access
to His divinity so that you can call those things
that be not as though they are. However, there
are certain things that trigger the occurrence of
signs and wonders in a person’s life. An
understanding of the position of a child of God in
the scheme of things will determine how much
possibility such a person can command. There
are so much wonders that happen when the
Name of Jesus is called in righteousness. That
Name is enough to silence everything that God
has not planted in your life. That Name
commands immediate results. There is a release
of miracles once the Name is called in Spirit and
in truth.
When the irreversible becomes reversible, then the
miraculous is at work as we find in the case of
Ezekiel and his encounter with the dry bones. I
decree into the life of someone reading this
devotional; you are the next in line for a miracle in
your family. In Genesis 1:3, “God said let there be
light” and immediately there was light. Whenever
God is present, you can expect miraculous
happenings. What is that problem that you are
presently facing? By the power of God, it shall be
resolved now in Jesus’ name.
Doubts and unbelief are the opposites of the
miraculous. When we don’t believe what God is
saying concerning any situation, it becomes
impossible to receive what God has promised at
such times, but if you constantly walk in faith, it
will make your testimonies a reference point.
Worship is also a catalyst for the miraculous.
Every time you get to that point where you forget
about your problems and you worship His Person,
knowing well that His Person and Power is
greater than your problem, you can be sure that
your miracle is on its way. Also, when you enforce
the Name of Jesus on any situation, you can be
sure that the condition will change for the better.
At the mention of His name, yokes are destroyed,
oppositions naturally give way and long endured
problems become a thing of the past. God’s
presence in your life is a guarantee for a
continuous flow of signs and wonders. If you keep
His presence, you will live a life of continuous
victory and celebration.
Action Point:
Father, let me be the next in line for a miracle.

ADULTERY AND FORNICATION: DESCRIPTION AND CAUSES

“But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart.” – Matthew 5:28
BIBLE PASSAGE: 1 Corinthians 6:15-20
INTRODUCTION:
Sexual immorality is a grievous sin that God hates. It is, therefore, alarming that it exists even among
the members of the church (1 Corinthians 5:1-2; Ephesians 5:3). Sexual immorality is any habit or act
that contradicts God’s lain down plan, principle and practice concerning sexual behaviour. Adultery and
fornication are forms of sexual immorality.
Other forms of sexual immorality are homosexuality, lesbianism, bestialism, incest, rape, masturbation,
pornography, lustful desires and immoral thoughts. Although all unrighteousness is sin, sexual immorality
is considered grave and great sin before God (1 Corinthians 3:16-17).
LESSON OUTLINES
1. Adultery and fornication described
2. Causes of adultery and fornication
ADULTERY AND FORNICATION DESCRIBED
Adultery can simply be described as marital infidelity. Adultery is any illicit sexual relationship between a
married person and other persons apart from his or her spouse. Also, adultery could mean sexual
relationship between a married person and someone that is betrothed (engaged).
Adultery and fornication are listed among the works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19). Not to commit adultery
is among the first 10 commandments given to Israel (Exodus 20:14). Adultery was regarded as a serious
sin punishable by death (Leviticus 20:10; John 8:4-5). It is regarded as foolishness and eternal reproach
(Proverbs 6:32-33). Adultery starts from the heart and the lust of the eyes (Matthew 5:27-28; 2 Peter
2:14). Polygamy and polyandry also constitute adultery.
Sexual immorality or intercourse between unmarried couples is fornication. Fornication has gone viral
among youths in the church like never before (1 Corinthians 5:1). The temptation to commit fornication
or adultery is common to all, but you do not have to fall for it (1 Corinthians 10:12-13).
CAUSE OF ADULTERY AND FORNICATION
Some of the likely causes of adultery are:
1.Untamed lustful desire (James 1;13-14)
2.Covetousness (Exodus 20:17)
3.Lack of contentment or satisfaction of a party (1 Corinthians 7:2-5).
4.Separation, divorce and remarriage are gateways to adultery (Matthew 19:9; Romans 7:2-3).
5.Hardship or unforeseen circumstances
In addition, the following can lead to fornication:
1.Curiosity – (Genesis 3:1-5)
2.Youthful lust – (2 Timothy 2:22)
3.Peer pressure – (Exodus 23:2)
4.Undefined relationship – (1 Corinthians 7:2)
5.Unnecessarily prolonged courtship – (1 Corinthians 7:9)
CONCLUSION
Sex before or outside marriage is totally forbidden by God (Ephesians 5:3). Saints must abstain from
fornication (Acts 15:20, 29). Christians must consciously put to death fornication being a deed of the
flesh (Colossians 3:5). And Matthew 5:28
But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath
committed adultery with her already in his heart.” According to all this verses in the bible , meaning everybody including male or female between the age of 10 -18 are all fornicator in one way or the other, provided you have feeling, expect the Saint ( Ephesians 5:3).

THE RADIATION IN HANDSET DENATURE YOUR SPERMATOZOA

In one of our training sessions,my mentor collected a Nokia torch hand set with fully charged battery. He brought a fresh egg. Then he puts the egg and the handset together and place them into a polythene bag. He tied the bag and told us to call the phone number..... Calling....calling.. ..busy.. busy.
When the battery is drained down, he gave the phone to the owner and cracked the egg.
Behold the egg was cooked!!.. done!!!. We were surprised and asked for the explanation. He told us that every handset emits electromagnetic rays. That it was the rays that was responsible for cooking of that egg. He also said that for device to be named " hand set " by international bodies is not by accident.
He said that it is never a pocket set. He went on to say that males (men) have egg resemblance in between their legs...scrotum. He admonished men to stop putting their hand set in their pockets, but to hold on hand. IfWill you continue to put set in your pocket, the radiation from it will denature your spermatozoa and cook your scrotum . That is why our men will marry 2 to 3 years no Issues. They begin to blame their wife. They will visit men of God for fasting and prayers. God will answer them and reverse the condition, but coming out of the church, they put back the handset in their pockets and continued to denature their sperm and cook their scrotum again.
Before a communication mast is mounted in your property, you will be paid between 10 to 20 million naira as long as you sign a document the network provider gives you. People don't even read the document. Only sign and collect the pay. The document reads in part within the middle ( we are giving you this money to buy land in another place and relocate, because what we are about to mount here is dangerous to your health ) . If you continue to stay there in about 10 to 15 years period, you and others living there will be suffering from one cancer case to the other.

Please guys, don't be putting handset in your pockets. Inform your friends and relatives about the dangers. Ladies inform your brothers, male friends and relatives the same.
By putting sets in your pocket or inside bra Can cause prostrate and breast cancer respectively.
Thanks for giving me the opportunity to discuss a little on one of the burning health issues. For more information visit nigeriantopsecret.blogspot.com

ENSLAVED BY FALSEHOOD?

Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight. Proverbs 12:22
Read: Genesis 3:1-6 (KJV) 1 Now the serpent was more subtil than any
beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden? 2 And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. 4 And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall
not surely die: 5 For God doth know that in the day ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and ye
shall be as gods, knowing good and evil. 6 And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise,
she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he dideat.
Message
There are dangerous traps of the devil set to derail people from inheriting their possessions in Christ Jesus. There are many people who have been deceived and enslaved in falsehood because they were not sensitive. This is why Jesus warned that if care is not taken, even the very elect will fall for the deceits of the devil. By all standards, lies are the devil’s greatest weapons with which he enslaves people into falsehood. A lie is anything other than the absolute truth. The first man and woman to exist on the earth were victims of lie when the devil intentionally misinterpreted the instructions that God gave them to keep. It is upon this that the Bible tells us to be as wise as serpents, because the devil will always try to prove to the children of God how ‘unreasonable’ the commandments of God are. You have to make up your mind to obey God rather than question simple instructions that are intended to make you happy and give you rest. The devil will also make efforts to question the reputation of God. Some teachers have taught that one can continue in sin since grace abounds. False teachers will tell you to live your life as you deem it fit because there is liberty in Christ.
These are all lies of the devil; those who fall for them will always have woeful experiences. The scripture tells us not only to hate lies but to keep the utmost distance from it because those who
engage in lies are abominable in the sight of God. We need to be men and women who delight in the
truths of God in all matters. The problem with human beings is that we always do not appreciate the truth when we find it. There are people who prefer to seek counsel from people that will destroy them through wrong counsels. Some people know that there is nothing biblical about their church, yet they remain in such
places. There are various wolves in sheep clothing parading themselves as true prophets sent by God, but if you allow the Lord to open your eyes, you will see clearly who they are. Many people have suffered untold damages in the hands of the fake prophets; this is why you need to be watchful. If you are a liar, or you are engaged in anything fraudulent, you need to stop it before the wrath of God comes upon you. If you are living a life that misrepresents the Kingdom of God, you have to quickly amend your ways before it becomes too late. If you give yourself to ungodly living, you will be enslaved by falsehood because you have refused to retain God in your knowledge. Are you under a ‘man of God’ who is performing miracles, signs and wonders, but whose life does not resemble that of Christ? I will advise that you relocate immediately to where the Truth will find you.
Key Point:
You shall know the Truth and the Truth will set
you free.

COST OF DISCIPLESHIP

And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple. Luke 14:27
Read: Luke 14:25-27 14:25 And there went great multitudes with him:
and he turned, and said unto them, 14:26 If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
14:27 And whosoever doth not bear his cross,
and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
MESSAGE
Children of God are to decide wisely what they want to do with their relationship with Him.
Jesus, in Luke 14:27 said; "And whosoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple." A Cross is a symbol of responsibility, to say the least. It is a pointer to the fact that the path of discipleship is rugged and demanding. It demands a high level of determination to follow without looking back when faced with sufferings and temptations. This is why Jesus said in Luke 9:62; "...No man, having put his hand to the plough, and looking back, is fit for the kingdom of God."
The cost of discipleship is also found in the blessed call of Jesus Christ in Matthew 11:28-29: "Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls." It is costly to follow Jesus Christ for many reasons. Firstly, He has a yoke and whoever wants to follow Him must bear that yoke with Him. An example of this yoke is found in John 4:34 where Jesus said; "...My meat is to do the will of him that sent me, and to finish his work." Whoever fails to share this burden with Jesus cannot be His disciple.
Secondly, the one who wants to be a disciple of Christ must learn of Him, he must pattern His life after Christ's life and one major way to pattern one's life after Jesus Christ is to be meek and lowly in heart. Philippians 2:5-8 says: "Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross."
Beloved, you have to know that discipleship has its price, but it is highly rewarding. Jesus Christ said, "...and yes shall find rest unto your souls." (Matthew 11:29).
Action Point:
Father, help me to pay the cost of discipleship, so
that I can gain the immeasurable blessing of a
genuine disciple.

GOD GETS ANGRY TOO

For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
PSALM 30 : 5.
READ : PSALMS 30 : 1 - 5 :1 I will extol thee, O LORD; for thou hast lifted me up, and hast not made my foes to rejoice over me.
2 O LORD my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me.
3 O LORD, thou hast brought up my soul from the grave: thou hast kept me alive, that I should not
go down to the pit.
4 Sing unto the LORD, O ye saints of his, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
5 For his anger endureth but a moment; in his favour is life: weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.
MESSAGE :
A truth catches one's attention, God can be angry! If this wasn't the case, the Bible wouldn't have said; "For his anger endureth but a moment". Jeremiah 25 : 6 further corroborates this fact by saying that the God of love can be provoked to anger : "And go not after other gods to serve them, and to worship them, and provoke me not to anger with the works of your hands; and I will do you
no hurt." It is only a false teacher or prophet that will teach that God is so lovingly holy, therefore, He can't be provoked to anger. This type of teaching
makes children of God take the love of their heavenly Father for granted. Having said this, we must also acknowledge the fact that His anger does not last forever. There is a condition though. When you don't take God and His mercies for granted, and you genuinely turn away from your wickedness, He will deal with you
as if you have never sinned before. Proverbs 28 : 13 says : "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but
whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have
mercy." When God is angry with an individual, that fellow cannot know joy. Psalms 32 : 10 says :
"Many sorrows shall be to the wicked: but he
that trusteth in the LORD, mercy shall compass
him about."Going by this scripture, every man born of a woman is doomed for sorrow until Jesus Christ
redeems him from the curse of sin. Our trust in the work of redemption without taking the One who made it possible for granted, will bring us unspeakable Joy. When our relationship is cordial
with God, we can boldly say like the Psalmist; "weeping may endure for a night..." ( due to the variable nature of life ) "...but joy cometh in the morning." When I first became General Overseer, anytime I returned from my missionary journeys, my wife would be eager to tell me about all the matters that needed my attention. After listening to them all, I would ask for my food and after the meal I would go to bed. My wife kept on wondering about my attitude. I had to explain to her the fact that joy will come in the morning because I was leaving everything to God while I sleep. Faithful is He who has promised us joy in the morning; it shall surely come
PRAYER POINT : Father, let my morning of joy
come now.
