LAGOS STATE CRUSADE NOVEMBER 2018, SPONSORED BY JULIUS BEGGER CONSTRUCTION COMPANY (GERMAN COMPANY)

We just returned from the first meeting of the Reinhard Bonnke Farewell Crusade here in Emmanuel Street off Ogudu /Ojota Lagos State, Nigeria. Hundreds of the top spiritual leaders from all over Africa are present as well as nearly 400 international guests that have come with our group. It truly is a historic moment as we celebrate 50 years of Evangelist Bonnke’s ministry in Africa. We look forward to many more years of Gospel impact here and around the world as a ministry.

Tonight, Evangelist Bonnke preached a powerful and clear evangelistic message. It was such a joy to hear him preach the Gospel on African soil again. Many thousands responded to the invitation and many were healed. Services were broadcast across the nation and around the world on social media as well as many Christian Television outlets.
We need your prayers this week. In meetings this size, everything is being stretched to the limit. There are many challenges including a very wet and swampy field. Please pray that the rain would not fall on that ground anymore this week. Also, please pray for protection for our large group, an outpouring of notable miracles, and a massive harvest of souls.
Although this crusade is Evangelist Bonnke’s final African crusade, it is only the beginning of what I believe will be a decade of super massive harvests for Christ for all Nations. The Lord has given me the word of a “Decade of Double Harvest.” Now it begins. The best is yet to come!

Yours in the Gospel,
David Ibiyeomie, Salvation Ministries.

Lagos means “lakes” in Portuguese, and is the most populous city in Nigeria. Lagos is also the second fast-growing city in Africa. Originally inhabited by the Awori, a subgroup of the Yoruba people, Lagos derived its name from a Portuguese explorer in the 15th century. Lagos was the capital city of Nigeria from 1914- 1991.
People
Lagos was originally inhabited by the Awori group of the Yoruba people. Today, it has a very diverse population due to heavy migration from other parts of Nigeria and surrounding countries. The Yoruba are the dominant ethnic group. There are more than 250 ethnic groups represented in Lagos, however, including the Hausa, Igbo, and Fulani. Small minorities of American, British, East Indian, Chinese, white Zimbabwean, Greek, Syrian, Lebanese and Japanese are also present in the city.
Land and Climate
Lagos Mainland districts include Ebute-Meta, Surulere, Yaba (location of the University of Lagos) and Ikeja, site of Murtala Muhammed International Airport and capital of Lagos State. Greater Lagos includes Mushin, Maryland, Somolu, Oshodi, Oworonsoki, Isolo, Ikotun, Agege, Iju Ishaga, Egbeda, Ketu, Bariga, Ipaja, Ajah and Ejigbo. The city of Lagos is the main city of the south-western part of Nigeria. Some rivers, like Badagry Creek, flow parallel to the coast for some distance before exiting through the sand bars to the sea. The two major urban islands of Lagos in Lagos Lagoon are Lagos Island and Victoria Island. The average temperatures in Lagos in November are a high of 31 °C (88 °F) and a low of 23 °C (73 °F)
Economy
Lagos is the center of commercial and financial business for all of Nigeria. Oil and petroleum are the main sources of income for foreign exchange, and the Port of Lagos is one of the largest and busiest in all of Africa.

The showman

Fayose made a show of taking himself to EFCC headquarters on Tuesday, October 16, while spotting a black T-Shirt with the inscription: “EFCC, I’m here”.
The former governor is under investigation for allegedly receiving N1.3 billion from the Office of the then National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, through then-Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro.
The EFCC also has a N1.3billion poultry fraud case against Fayose.
A former Attorney General of the Federation, Chief Kanu Agabi (SAN), will serve as Fayose’s lawyer through his trial.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a large number of Fayose’s supporters were in court to cheer him through today's arraignment.

EFCC will move Fayose to Lagos to face trial – Source

According to the source, Fayose has been served with the charges against him and his trial notice.

A source in the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has revealed that former Governor Ayo Fayose may be relocated to Lagos to stand trial.

According to the source who spoke to The Nation, Fayose has been served with the charges against him and his trial notice.
EFCC’s spokesman, Wilson Uwujaren also said that “Fayose has been served with charges alongside his company, Spotless.”

Fayose in EFCC custody

The former Governor has been in EFCC’s custody since he surrendered himself  on Tuesday, October 16, 2018.
The anti-graft agency also obtained an order from a Federal High Court mandating it to keep Fayose for 14 days.

Dasuki loot

The Governor Gov is being investigated for allegedly receiving  N1.3 billion from the office of former National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki.
The EFCC source said “We have preferred charges against Fayose at a Federal High Court in Lagos.
“He will be prosecuted for receiving N1.299 billion and $5.3 million from ONSA through a former minister, Musiliu Obanikoro.
“Although the illicit cash was released for the 2014 governorship campaign of Fayose, it was diverted to acquiring properties.

“The minister flew N1.299 billion in cash in two flights to Akure Airport for Fayose, and it was Agbele who received the slush funds from Obanikoro.
“While Fayose admitted knowing Obanikoro, he told his interrogators that he did not collect $5.3 million from the ex-minister.
“The EFCC will relocate Fayose from Abuja to Lagos either on Saturday or Sunday for the trial.”
The EFCC has also released photos of a property which was wrongly acquired by the former Ekiti state Governor, Ayo Fayose.

EFCC obtains court order to detain Fayose for two weeks …ex-gov to sue anti-graft agency

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has obtained a remand order from a Federal Capital Territory High Court to keep former Governor Ayodele Fayose of Ekiti State for two weeks, The PUNCH can confirm.
The remand order, it was learnt, is subject to renewal which implies that Fayose could spend longer than two weeks in custody.

A reliable source said, “We have obtained a court order to hold Fayose for at least two weeks pending investigation. He could be released earlier or later than two weeks depending on the outcome of investigation.”
Fayose is under probe for allegedly receiving N1.3bn from the Office of the National Security Adviser through a former Minister of State for Defence, Senator Musiliu Obanikoro, during the build-up to the 2014 governorship election in Ekiti State.
However, sources within the commission revealed to The PUNCH that Fayose was also under probe for allegedly receiving kickbacks from government contractors through his aide, Abiodun Agbele, who is currently standing trial for fraud.
The EFCC source said, “We have many cases against Fayose being handled by three different teams. We cannot just arraign him immediately. We want to do a thorough job before taking him to court.”
Meanwhile, the lawyer to Fayose, Chief Mike Ozekhome (SAN), told The PUNCH on the telephone that if the EFCC failed to release the former governor on Thursday (today), the commission would be sued for breaching Fayose’s fundamental human rights.
Ozekhome said the EFCC began investigating Fayose over two years ago and that he wondered why the agency would decide to hold him for over 24 hours.
He said the commission could not force Fayose to write any statement as he reserved the right to remain silent.

The senior advocate said any move to obtain a remand order would amount to illegality because the Supreme Court had made that clear.
The lawyer said since Fayose’s accounts had been frozen and his properties seized by the commission, there was nothing for the ex-governor to tell the EFCC as the matter was already in court.
Ozekhome added, “His lawyers will consider approaching the court for the enforcement of his fundamental human rights if he is not released on Thursday. Section 35 and 36 of the constitution are clear on this.
“He is not a flight risk. He willingly submitted himself to the EFCC even earlier than the time he was supposed to come. What the EFCC is doing is nothing but media trial.
“From the way they have been chasing Fayose in the last three years, one would have expected that the EFCC would have completed its investigations and would arrest him immediately his tenure expires and charge him the next day but that is not the case.
“They want him to write a statement by force and then use the statement against him instead of using their own evidence.”
Charge Fayose to court, PDP tells EFCC
On its part, the South-West Zone of the Peoples Democratic Party on Wednesday warned the EFCC not to detain Fayose for more than 48 hours before charging him to court.

In a statement issued by the Publicity Secretary of the party in the zone, Mr Ayo Fadaka, the party said, “It is now going to 48 hours that he submitted himself to the agency and he is still being held incommunicado, this development proves that the claim by the EFCC that it is actually working in public interest is a lie. It is merely playing a partisan card as attested to by its unfortunate tweet in the immediate aftermath of the Ekiti election.
“We, therefore, hold firmly that if Fayose is not charged to court immediately to answer to whatever charges against him, then it will be very clear that the Buhari administration is merely using the EFCC to intimidate, harass and punish him in the most unjust manner.”
My govt a blessing, says Fayose…insists he didn’t take loan
Meanwhile, Fayose has said the statement credited to Governor Kayode Fayemi that his administration was an error is a mere political statement that shouldn’t be taken seriously.
He said the Ekiti people knew that his first and second administrations were never an error but rather ones that brought unparalleled blessings and development to the state.
Fayose reacted through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Idowu Adelusi, in a press release issued in Ado Ekiti on Wednesday.
He said, “If Fayemi said the administration of Fayose is an error, then the road projects, the High Court Complex, the Adunni Olayinka Women Development Centre, the new Governor’s Office, the Ministry of Finance building, the flyover bridge, the construction of chalets and renovation of buildings in the Government House, among others,  are errors.

“The old Governor’s Office used by Governor Fayemi during his first tenure was built by Fayose and now that providence has bestowed a  second term on his shoulder, he will operate from the new Governor’s Office also built by Fayose. Are these errors as well?”

SUFFERING NIGERIAN LADY FAKES MADNESS TO ESCAPE HER WICKED SAUDI ARABIAN BOSS WHO KILLED HER LAST MAID

Extreme conditions require extreme measures

In August 2018, Punch reported the exploitation of Nigerian girls in Saudi Arabia; girls were subjected to inhumane working conditions and even assault.

During that period, two Nigerian girls named Omotayo and Shola were killed by their bosses in Saudi Arabia. This time, it seems one of those girls, suffering similarly terrible working conditions needed to escape.
According to Satellite Times, the unnamed lady’s family thought she was in Europe, working. Instead, she was stuck in Saudi Arabia, slaving away at the hands of a terrible boss. She wanted to run away but was prevented by the contract she had signed with the recruitment agencies in Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
These agencies are also privy to the terrible treatment these girls are subjected to. This unnamed girl also says that she was kept indoors all day, so she would not run away.

What changed?

She learned that the previous maid to her boss before her was killed by her boss from excessive beating, maltreatment and improper feeding. That maid was Omotayo, the girl who sent a picture of her battered self to her family members.
It was then that something snapped in her, she knew only desperate measures would suffice. What ensued was a display of fake madness to make her boss was disinterested in her as possible.
She put on tattered clothes, plastered her face with powder and started yelling gibberish, including Yoruba incantations, which both shocked and amazed her boss. She continued this for three days, through which she wasnt fed, nor did she drink water.

On the second day, her boss placed a call to the recruitment agency to query why she got an insane maid. After no reasonable explanation was forthcoming, the boss had her put on a plane, possibly deportedShe survived.
According to Satellite Times, Omotayo had sent a picture of her battered self to her loved ones before she sadly passed away from the excessive battery. Shola was beaten and was not fed, she also passed away in sad circumstances.
They say extreme conditions trigger extreme measures. You remember those wicked seniors in Secondary Boarding Schools you had to fake-faint for so they would stop beating you? This is a modern representation of one of those situations.
Extreme situations trigger desperate solutions.

The Nigerian Military  have not reacted to the latest attack. But an operative of the local vigilante group in Ogudu Lagos State,  Malam Musa, confirmed the attack to News Agency of Nigeria NAN
The attack occurs one week after the terrorists released a video showing hundreds of people whom they called their members praying during the Islamic festival, Eid-el-Kabir.
In the video, the insurgents threatened more attacks and claimed they were not losing the war against the Nigerian military.
The military has discountenanced the video and described it as adulterated.
