Fashola blasts TAN, says Jonathan not Transforming Anything

Lagos State governor Babatunde Fashola has lampooned the Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria (TAN) for orchestrating the return of President Goodluck Jonathan administration through false claims saying, “This government is unwilling; it has nothing to offer Nigerians.”

Despite the series of adverts powered by TAN to convince Nigerians, Fashola, who spoke as a keynote speaker at the opening ceremony of Women In Business (Wimbiz) Conference held at the Eko Hotels in Victoria Island, said he remained convinced that the country under the leadership of PDP was not transforming the country as portrayed by the group.

According to him, “Where the North East is under siege and the economy has continued to nose-dive, the Transformation Ambassadors have continued to distort the true information that all is well."

Fashola said: "All it takes to cripple our economy by those country from where we buy oil is to say they won’t sell to us any longer.
“We have seen a good example where the country was denied access from buying arms. This is the situation we are as regards importation of oil.
“The government is yet to give us power as promised; they are yet to give us fuel; we are yet to see the standard highways they promised. There are so many Nigerians living without electricity."

Fashola lamented that thousands of people in the North East had been killed or turned refugees, over 200 girls still in captivity of insurgents with the North East still under siege, “yet the Transformation Ambassadors are telling Nigerians that all is well.”

He said there are so many indices to show that the country is yet to be transformed, pointing out that all the promises made by the Jonathan’s government in 2011 to Nigerians are yet to be fulfilled.

He noted that the Jonathan’s administration in 2011 promised to generate 16,000 megawatts by 2013, including harnessing coal opportunity, wind and solar to generate 13,000 megawatt electricity, noting that this is yet to be seen to become a reality.

He said, “I agree with him (President Jonathan) that electricity is key development for Nigeria. I agree with him entirely but how well have we gone till today?”

According to him, when the price of oil stood at $100 per barrel for almost a decade, the PDP led government has not been able to transform the country noting that these days when the price of oil has dropped to $80 per barrel, it’s obvious the government at the centre cannot do better with lean purse.

'My Mother Had Been Behaving Strangely" - Daughter of Alleged Abuja 'Witch'

A middle-aged woman, Ope Kubona, caused a stir in Kubwa, Abuja, yesterday when she was found naked on the rooftop of the All Saint’s Fellowship Church close to the Kubwa Village market.

According to reports, Kubona, who was well known and sold beans cake (akara) in the area was immediately branded a witch by the huge number of spectators that were drawn to the scene and would have been lynched by the angry mob if not for the quick intervention of the police.

She was eventually brought down from the rooftop by a police team, led by the Kubwa Divisional Police Officer, Surajudeen Ayobami. Her children brought clothes to cover her before she was taken
to the station.

Talking with PUNCH Metro, the DPO said Kubona was brought to the station and placed under protective custody in view of the aggression of the crowd towards her. He said:
 “We rescued the woman from the All Saint’s Fellowship Church, where we found her naked on the rooftop. I learnt she has psychiatric problems, but the spectators believed she was a witch and wanted to attack her, so we had to bring her to the station and place her under protective custody.”
However, at the Police station, the woman went berserk, shouting at her children and the policemen. She almost attacked a pregnant woman, who attempted to take her picture with a smart phone. Talking to no one in particular, she described herself as a “prayer warrior” and abused her children for disrupting her peace. Attempts to engage her in a conversation failed as she refused to respond to questions from PUNCH Metro.

One of her children, Elizabeth, 21, said her mother had been behaving strangely for about three months, adding that moves to take her back to her village in Okitipupa, Ondo State, failed, as she refused to leave the house.

On that fateful day, Elizabeth said she observed that her mother disappeared from their room around 4am, only to be found later stark naked on the roof of the church.
“It was around 4am that I noticed that she was not in the room, but I didn't know where to search for her because it was dark. But in the morning, one of our neighbours saw her on the roof of the church and came to tell us that our mother was on the church roof. The police later came and brought her down, “she said.

Kanu Nwankwo storms Surulere in support of Desmond Elliot

Kanu Nwankwo, one of the most respected footballers in Africa and United Nations Ambassador, recently gave a big boost to the political aspiration of Desmond Olushola Elliot (DOE) at a political forum recently.

Kanu told the gathering, which took place in Surulere, he believed Desmond Elliot will make the constituents and the people of Surulere proud when elected into the Lagos House of Assembly, just as he too had made Nigeria and Nigerians very proud as a good representative of the country abroad. He made the declaration at forum organized for Desmond Elliot to meet a group of Widows in Surulere.

While addressing the crowd, Elliot spoke extensively on the several community based projects he has been sponsoring over the years, some of which include;
sponsoring of over twenty (20) students’ tertiary education at the National Open University, Talent Sponsorship for the Entertainment Industry, working in partnership with some financial institutions to give loans to micro businesses and medical support. He also spoke on the many social plans his party, the All Progressives Congress, has for Nigerian women.

Prior to signifying interest in politics, Elliot had for several years established a humanitarian foundation that has been meeting the needs of poor communities in Liberia, Sierra Leone, Uganda and some other African communities. These are the past and present good works done that has positioned him as the choice candidate that will truly address the needs of the people, especially those in his constituency when elected their representative in 2015.

Desmond Olushola Elliot is contesting for the post of Representative at the Lagos State House of Assembly (LAHA) on the platform of the APC, representing Surulere Constituency 1. He has received immense support from his immediate Nollywood community, his numerous fans and major APC party caucuses within the local government since flagged off his campaign.

Beef Brewing? Chika Ike’s Manager Fires Back at Charles Novia for Calling her OBTUSE!

Charles-Novia
There is a new beef brewing in Nollywood, and it’s between Chika Ike’s manager, and director turned controversial writer, Charles Novia. In an article, he titled ‘Of Flavour’s flaunt, Yachting holidays and Range Rovers”, which he posted on his blog yesterday, he called Chika’s Ike manager, Serah Donald, obtuse(look that up in Oxford – So you’ll understand why Miss manager lashed back that much).

According to the article, Novia wrote;
“It all boils down to my point. And by the way, that picture I saw of the yacht is suspect. The damned thing looked like a cruise boat which the obtuse PA might have mistaken for a yacht though. Anyway, my point is, in this clime we live in, our so-called celebrities, coming from a background of social, material and emotional deprivation just have to force the public to know that they have arrived. So, a boat trip, a helicopter ride, a breakfast in a 3 star hotel lobby and a personal scratch on the ass must make the news at all costs’
Are you ready for this one, here’s what Miss Donald wrote back;
Ah hh Charles Novia. Why the beef? I understand your pains that after years spent in the industry you have nothing to show for it and have resorted to getting fame with celebrities names. Oh well! let me grant you the audience of having your fifteen minutes fame as usual.
Trying to resurrect your dead career by trying to be a critic or will I say a hater.
Before you hate why not at least do a proper research. First you called a yacht, a cruise boat. I laughed at first but I understand that you have not experienced the luxury of being in a Yacht to know the difference between a boat and a yacht. You called Jumeirah beach hotel a 3 star hotel? my guy I forgive your ignorance ,how will you know the difference when you have not even been in a two star hotel how much more a five star hotel.
You call me Chika Ike’s personal Assitant ,that really got me laughing hard because I know that you know I am her manager and her publicist a position you will give your life to attain at lease to make some money for your self and take expense paid trips vacation.
I remember clearly that you met me in California when you came for Nollywood convention. And I was in a film school one you won’t even be able to afford even if you worked for years but then again I forgive your ignorance as I deeply feel your pains. Dealing with a dead career is not really an easy one.
But one advice focus on resurrecting your career and going back to being a movie director rather than living your life hating on celebrities who has made it. It’s obvious your beef doesn’t pay your bills and you will die a wretched sad old man who will be remembered for hating on celebrities. Like the famous saying goes. Have you ever seen a statue erected In honor of a critic ?NO!
Chika Ike is one of the biggest Nigerian celebrities we have, a U.N ambassador, bullet energy drink ambassador. Refugee ambassador for displaced person just to mention a few. An extremely hardworking one as such and very charitable ,i am sure you are aware of how many lives she has changed with her Chika Ike foundation. Chika Ike is blessed and no man can take that away. She is 28 and successful and she’s sure going to live her life to the fullest so feel free to feed your eyes with more instagram pictures if it pains you then go work harder and be celebrated. Peace out!
Some ranting there though, did she forget to sound a tad professional?
