Ekiti State Assembly Crises: Oshiomhole, Amaechi, Have Done Worse, Stop Being Hypocritical – Fayose To APC

Ayo FayoseGovernor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has denied claims that the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, Dr. Adewale Omirin, was impeached, Monday by Peoples Democratic Party lawmakers loyal to him.
There were reports that seven out of 26 members of the House reconvened Monday without the speaker or the deputy, and named a speaker pro tempore, before approving nominations sent in by the governor.
The lawmakers ratified the appointment of three commissioners, 12 advisers and reconstituted the caretaker committees of the 16 Local Government Areas in the state.
The All Progressives Congress-dominated House claimed the action of the PDP lawmakers was illegal as they did not have the required number to form a quorum.
The also lambasted the police for providing them full protection despite clearly not meeting the required quorum for the sitting.
During the sitting, the members nominated one Dele Olugbemi as the Speaker pro-tempore, an action described by some as a technical impeachment of the substantive Speaker.
But Governor Fayose said in a statement that the lawmakers did not breach any laws and did not impeach the substantive speaker.
“Our attention has been drawn to the news aired by AIT that the Ekiti State Speaker has been impeached by 7 members”, said his spokesperson, Idowu Adelusi.
“Well, I am not supposed to respond to the lies aired by AIT purposely to misinform members of the public because the legislature is another arm of government and whatever they do in their chamber is their business and the executive arm has nothing to do with that.
The statement said: “If they remove their leaders and appoint new ones that is their business. However, to educate the public, no speaker was removed”.
According to Fayose, nine members of the House sat on Monday and the House’s standing rule allows a quorum of 9 members to sit and appoint a presiding officer.
The governor criticized the APC, describing their opposition to yesterday’s sitting as ‘hypocritical’.
“APC are only being hypocritical. APC-controlled state of Edo, we all know what is happening there”, he said. “For over a year now, the state governor has prevented the lawmakers from sitting.
“He said he was going to renovate the Assembly Complex and PDP lawmakers have been meeting in the dilapidated complex, while APC lawmakers are meeting at the Government House.
“Also another APC state of Rivers, the judiciary has been shut down for over a year too”, Fayose pointed out.

Did y'all know that to be a police officer in Indonesia, you have to be a virgin? I know it's none of ya business but it's interesting to read.

According to Human Rights Watch, the organization fighting to get the practice abolished - female police recruits who make only 3% of the country's police force, are being forced to take 'virginity test' before they begin training.

The Indonesia police recruitment website says, ‘All women who want to become policewomen should keep their virginity."

The female police officers who have undergone this test, which examines them to make sure their hymens are still intact, say its ‘painful, traumatic and really upsetting’ and are asking that it be stopped.
"I feared that after they performed the test I would not be a virgin any more. It really hurt. My friend even fainted because … it really hurt, really hurt.’ a recruit told HRW
Human Rights Watch say they are working with the government to get rid of the practice as its ‘discriminatory and a form of gender-based violence’.

Vogue editor Anna Wintour shades Kim K and Kanye West

White lady shade. They do it so subtly that you don't see it at first but if you read between the lines, you will see her drag her claws across Kim and Kanye's face. lol. When asked during a discussion at the Metropolitan Museum of Arts on Monday why she put Kanye and Kim K on the Vogue cover, Ms Wintour said it was 'not a tasteful choice' and admitted that she did it as a publicity stunt…
"I see the role of Vogue to reflect what’s going on in the culture. The first celebrity that I put on the cover of Vogue was Madonna, and that was considered completely controversial at the time, too. It’s such a long time ago probably no one remembers, but she was a very controversial figure. Now she’s part of the establishment. I think if we just remain deeply tasteful and just put deeply tasteful people on the cover, it would be a rather boring magazine! Nobody would talk about us. It’s very important that people do talk about us."
Ouch! This woman is not nice at all...:-). Vogue actually lost a lot of subscribers after the infamous Kimye cover so she's been explaining why she did it..

How Doctor Killed My Son in Enugu-Sen.Jim Nwobodo

Former Governor of Old Anambra State, Senator Jim Nwobodo yesterday narrated how his son, Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwobodo jnr died following the alleged negligence of a doctor.
According to the Nation, He said his son developed pains in the legs and he was taken to a consultant oncologist at the University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital (UNTH), Enugu.
“My son was ill for five months before I knew about it and we were planning to go to India before we took him to the U.S. He was given a visa for two years because the cancer was at stage four, but they treated him.
When he came back, his leg started to swell and he thought he should see a doctor and I advised him to see the best oncologist. It took us three weeks to see the doctor.
Ön Friday – I was speaking with him three times a day – and he was to see the doctor by 5pm and between 5:30 and 6pm, I called him and he said he was with the doctor. I requested to speak with the doctor but he said he was busy but instead of the doctor taking him to UNTH, he took him to his private clinic, where he had no equipment, no facility at all. I called him again and when I didn’t hear from him I sent him text and I asked the doctor to tell me why he gave my son injection that made him unconscious, he said he was sorry and that he was trying to resuscitate him.
I spoke with him by 6:30pm and by 7 pm he was dead. It is painful because this is something that would have been averted and I can’t understand why a dean of Department of Medicine should leave the hospital where he has all the equipment to go to his private clinic and I believe that is how some other people die.”
