LMAO. Coffin brought to PDP National secretariat in Abuja today

Wednesday, December 3, 2014

Our politics and politicians are hilarious. So a coffin was brought to the PDP national secretariat in Abuja today that sent PDP chairman and other party members running for their lives. LOL

Angry PDP members from Rivers state today staged a weird protest against the leadership of the PDP over the choice of former Education Minister Nyesom Wike as the party's Governorship candidate for River state in the 2015 elections. The protesters who stormed the party secretariat around 6am with the coffin, barricaded the entrance of the secretariat, stopping everyone who worked at the building from gaining entrance. The group was later dispersed by mobile police with five protesters arrested. (Photo credit - Sahara Reporters)

Lady Gaga reveals she was raped by a record producer

Lady Gaga revealed on the Howard Stern show today that she was raped by a record producer at the age of 19.The record producer was 41 at the time .Now 28, she says she kept it bottled inside and was scared of telling anyone about her ordeal...She says she just finally got healing by mentally confronting the situation
"I went through some horrific things that I'm able to laugh [at] now, because I've gone through a lot of mental and physical therapy and emotional therapy to heal over the years. My music's been wonderful for me. But, you know, I was a shell of my former self at one point. I was not myself. To be fair, I was about 19. I went to Catholic school and then all this crazy stuff happened, and I was going, 'Oh, is this just the way adults are?'...I was very naïve."(continue)
"I'll be damned if somebody's gonna say that every creatively intelligent thing that I ever did is all boiled down to one dickhead who did that to me,I'm going to take responsibility for all my pain looking beautiful. All the things that I've made out of my strife, I did that."
I saw him one time in a store and I was so paralyzed by fear..It took me a long time to talk about it ...I didn't tell anybody.I was like you know what, all this drinking and nonsense, you have to go to the source or it won't go away.

North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un has banned citizens from sharing his name and ordered people using it to get 'trained' to change it.

'All party organs and public security authorities should make a list of residents named Kim Jong-Un... and train them to voluntarily change their names.'
'Authorities should make sure that there is no one making unnecessary complaints or spreading gossip... regarding this project.'
Dailymail reports that, anyone named Kim Jong-Un would have their official documents, identity cards and even school diplomas changed to the person's new name.

Officials were also told to reject all birth certificates for babies named after the dictator.

Read Charles Novia's Opinion on Flavour's "Gollibe" Video

Charles Novia may have ruffled some feathers with his blunt criticisms but he does give credit when due.. Just read his spot on review of Flavour's Gollibe featuring Pete Edochie
and Anna Banner ...Read below as published on his blog
I have just watched over and over again on Youtube, the Best Music Video in Nigeria, and arguably continental on a larger scale, of 2014.And this is no fluke. I spent hours watching it over and over for incisive areas to make notes and point out a few flaws but I could not find any. And I am very impressed.
Forget the eyebrow-raising story of Flavour’s new CD selling a million copies in Five days of its release. Forgive Flavour’s narcissistic propensity to post half-nude pictures of himself regularly on the internet. What cannot be denied is the Young Man’s monstrous talent and his ability to push that big envelope with original compositions and well-produced visual interpretations.

After watching ‘Gollibe’, his new video, my undeniable respect for the soft-spoken Clarence Peters went a notch higher. Let mes share aspects of the video which impressed me no end.
‘Gollibe’ being a piano-themed composition, is melodious and heart-warming. On a normal day, hearing it on radio and on your gadgets without seeing the video, one might not attach much sentiments to the song. With a visual interpretation which sees Flavour pounding a Grand Piano in an village compound, the symbolism of Western influences and an authentic African identity is not lost with those few shots.
I like the fact that this video synchronised the African and universal appeal of Nollywood in telling its story. And that by itself, is a stroke of genius in marketing and relevance, well portrayed. And I love the visual narrative. A leisurely stroll by Flavour around the village, a stumble and a helping hand by a village damsel gives us a glimpse of what the denouement would look like.
Borrowing from a subtle Cinderella-esque visual motif, Prince Flavour at the prodding of the King, played by a regal looking Pete Edochie, is to choose from a beevy of anxious and desperate ladies who do everything from catwalking to provocative pouting to get the attention of the Prince. But the Prince follows his heart and settles for Gollibe, played by former Beauty Queen, Anna Ebiere.
The Costumes were quite good too. And I liked the fact that the make-up artiste left the natural blotches on Anna’s face when she was the village damsel so we could appreciate the transformation when she became the Princess.
The Cinematography was excellent with purposeful interpretation of shots using the slow motion technique commendably.
Clarence Peters is the Peak of the Pack in his field and I seem to have noticed that he’s at his best when his musicals have a linear story to tell and when an experienced Producer is attached to his brief. ‘Ada, Ada’, an earlier masterpiece by him comes to mind.
As an aside, another commendable music video I have seen this year with good directorial interpretation but obviously on an average budget is ‘My Darling’by Tiwa Savage and I give the creative Kemi Adetiba a thumbs up for that too. I believe music videos are mini-movies unto themselves and it is heartwarming to watch the ones with nice story lines than the silly, stereotypical bum-shaking offerings which adorn the screens from Nigeria.

I have always opined that the music industry and Nollywood have to find a staple synergy for the growth of both sectors beyond red carpet events. And music videos such as ‘Gollibe’ enhances that opinion.

I Have no Hand in the Selection of Any State’s Party’s Candidates – Patience Jonathan

image118
You know how a lot of folks believe Dame Patience Jonathan, was imposing governorship candidates on some states ahead of the 2015 general elections, well Mama Peace has denied such speculations claiming she has no power to anoint any aspirant because she was neither a politician nor a member of the Peoples Democratic Party.

This was made known in a statement by her Media Assistant, Ayo Adewuyi, while reacting to a media report that some party leaders and stakeholders in Ebonyi State had decided to defect to the All Progressives Congress because she insisted that the state Deputy Governor, Chief Dave Umahi, must be the party’s governorship candidate.
“Let us state once again that the First Lady is not an elected official of state, neither is she a party functionary.
“She, therefore, recognises very clearly her place in the scheme of things — Let it be known that the First Lady has no hand in the selection of the party’s candidates in any state and definitely not in Ebonyi”
Well, do you agree???

"Why marriages are no longer working in Nigeria' Seun Kuti breaks it down

In a new interview with Encomium magazine, afrobeat singer, songwriter and saxophonist Seun Kuti, who has said many times that he doesn't believe in marriage, said one of the reasons marriages no longer last in Nigeria is because women are no longer submissive. Read below & tell us if you agree
"I don't believe in marriage. The truth is, the marriage institution in Nigeria has collapsed. Nobody is getting married for long anymore. On the average, it's within a year. Although they still marry, they separate. The thing responsible for it is that people get married for the wrong reasons. As a matter of fact, the institution of marriage is fading away in the traditional sense of marriage - for love; for better or worse; and all sort. It's fading because women are no longer submissive.
For you to live together with someone for life, someone must be submissive. That is easier when women are not working, and they depend on their husband. But now, its becoming difficult because they are working; making more money even more than the men. The situation is terrible. Even if you as a man is not looking outside, your wife will look.
I've made a decision and my partner already agreed. In fact there was a wedding we went attended in Ibadan, the couple broke up at the reception. Because of picture, the bride's father wanted to take first, the groom's father said No and they started quarreling. The couple broke up at the reception. How about that?
About my father marrying 27 wives, if you look deep, you will discover that in 1986 my father divorced all his wives. People seem to forget this fact. It also goes to buttress my point that says marriage is becoming a fading institution. Fela was the epitome of marriage. First, he married one woman, then he married 26 at once. He has experienced both, and later he came out to say marriage is bad. What about that?" He said
