See Photo: Man nabbed in Abuja after abducting five-year-old boy from Ogun

The police in Abuja have arrested a suspected kidnapper, Bola Adesina, who allegedly abducted a five-year-old boy from the Sagamu area of Ogun State.

Punch Metro learnt that 31-year-old Adesina was arrested by detectives attached to the Utako Police Division on Christmas Eve of 2014.

It was also learnt that the victim, identified simply as Ahmed, had been missing from home for about a week.

Our correspondent gathered that the suspect was nabbed at a motor park in the Utako area, while the victim was rescued from him.

Adesina was reportedly heading for a location in Kaduna State to deliver the victim before he was arrested by the police at the park.

The Federal Capital Territory Commissioner of Police, Wilson Inalegwu, said Ahmed had been reunited with his family in Ogun State.

He said, “The suspect will be arraigned in court as soon as sitting resumes. Meanwhile, the child has been reunited with his parents.

LOL! 80 year old man spends life savings to buy diamond ring for wife

 Aww! This brought me to tears ...An 80-year-old man in China spent his life-savings to buy his wife of many years a diamond ring for because she has had 'a hard life'.

Staff at a jewellery store in Xinjiang,said they were approached by the elderly couple and asked if they could see some 'reasonably priced' rings.

The OddityCentral  reports that the man wanted to make his wife happy because they had experienced of lifetime of struggle.

 According to staff member Zhou Lanlan, the couple had visited their shop at noon on Wednesday. The man then proceeded to ask for diamond rings that were ‘reasonably priced’.

The salesperson recommended one particular ring that was being sold at a discounted price. After trying it on, the man payed for the ring with a huge roll of small banknotes that are believed to have been his entire life’s savings. He mentioned that he wanted to make his wife happy after a lifetime of struggles. “We’ve been leading a hard life. I just hope to cheer her up,”

How Oge Okoye Snatched Ex-Husband from Nkiru Sylvanus (Family Source Spills the Beans)

This life ehn. Just when you think you've heard, seen the worst - Tchidi Chikere/Nuella Njubigbo VS Sophia Chikere; Daniel Ademinokan/Stella Damasus VS Doris Simeon; another story comes up and totally blows you away.

It's no longer news that Nollywood darling actresses Oge Okoye and Nkiru Sylvanus are involved in one of the biggest scandals from last year. Nkiru Sylvanus is currently engaged to her colleague Oge Okoye's husband, Stanley Duru. They would have been married by now if not that their story was made public and the couple was forced to pause their wedding plans.

A lot of people are blaming Nkiru Sylvanus, who coincidentally has in many interviews revealed she doesn't mind being a second wife. However, a family source from Nkiru’s camp who knows about the whole affair, has revealed the true story.

The source, who would rather not be named told YNaija:

“It is funny how the media is blaming Nkiru when it is actually a complicated affair. Oge and Nkiru used to be close friends, they met Stanley at the same time in Enugu in 2006.  

Nkiru and Stanley fell in love and Oge the back stabber, knew this yet somehow she
sheepishly let Stanley impregnate her. Nkiru was hurt but she let go of the love of her life for a friend, she didn’t want her to be put to shame and mocked for having a child out of wedlock. So, Oge Okoye and Stanley Duru moved to Amsterdam and got married. 

Of course a dog will always return to its vomit, after having their first son, Oge cheated on Stanley with a friend of his and he paid her back by dating one Dutch lady, Barbara with whom he now has a child, Uchechi, but let’s leave that story for another time. 

They somehow reconciled and she took in again and delivered a baby girl in 2010 but they officially parted ways in 2012, you media people didn’t know that, did you?   

On realizing they were both single again, Nkiru and Stanley reconnected and they regretted letting each other go. They got really close after Nkiru escaped from the kidnappers’ den.'' 

On the postponed wedding, the source said:

“They have done the family introduction already. They were actually planning a secret wedding for December 27 but it has been postponed, they didn’t plan for the news to get out, so that changed everything”.

When asked why the wedding was postponed, the source declined and said

“That’s how much information I can give my dear, Nkiru’s media people are working on a press statement already, everything you need to know will be revealed there”

Contrary to reports that actress Oge Okoye is unhappy with the development, the source claimed otherwise.

“She is not furious, she is not devastated at all. She and Stanley parted ways since and she has moved on. Moreover she has no reason to be hurt, after all she snatched Stanley from my cousin first”

Nkiru has said more than a few times, that she would not mind being a second wife. While speaking on a TV programme months ago, she said:

“ If the situation and the person is good, I’ll go for it. I’ve said it before that if ladies don’t stop this nonsense they call ‘one-man-one-wife’, many of them will get to 40 and still remain single. There are more women than men. Go to churches, the number of single ladies in most cases is three times the number of single guys”.

A Lieutenant Colonel of the Nigerian Army, Kingsley Iberi, is currently down with stroke and paralysis after 14 years of waiting for his entitlements which have not come.

Punch Metro learnt that 63-year-old Iberi, who hails from Igbanke, Edo State, joined the army in January 1972 as a Cadet Officer, having finished from the Nigerian Defence Academy, Kaduna State. His first place of posting was 24 Infantry Battalion in Gboko, Benue State.

Our correspondent gathered that Iberi, who rose to the rank of a Lieutenant Colonel in December 1990, was, however, dismissed from the army in 1998 after a court martial, which his family described as a shoddy process.

He was tried by the army for conspiracy, cheating and impersonation, which Iberi claimed he knew nothing about.

It was learnt that in 2002, Iberi filed an appeal against his dismissal at the Federal Court of Appeal, Lagos, and the court ruled in February 2013 that Iberi should be reinstated in the army while his entitlements from 1998, when he was wrongfully dismissed, be paid to him.

 However, the family claimed that the Nigerian Army had yet to obey the court judgment.When PUNCH Metro visited Iberi on Wednesday, the sexagenarian, who now uses a stand-up lift to stand and walk, said since age could not allow him return to service, the authorities of the Nigerian Army should pay his entitlements as the court had ruled since 2013.

He said, “I was not just wrongfully dismissed from the army, I was made to serve a two-year jail term at a Military Police Cell in Apapa. It was when I came out that I filed the appeal, and the court ruled that both the court martial judgment and the term I served were invalid, and I should be reinstated and paid my entitlements.

“I developed this illness as a result of the shock that my entitlements stopped suddenly and my family would have to live in penury. As I speak with you, my wife sells in Oshodi so that the family can survive. The last salary I was paid was in June 1997 before the hasty judgment. I want the authorities to implement the court ruling and pay me all my entitlements.”

 The Director, Army Public Relations, Brig. General Olajide Laleye, told our correspondent on the phone that the court judgment would undergo some due processes at the army’s legal department.He added that it was wrong of Iberi to have taken his plight to the media because the media neither employed him nor dismissed him.

He said, “It is quite strange that an officer would start talking about what happened to him to the press. Why is the officer going about to complain about what is entirely a Nigerian Army affair?

“If a court has passed a judgment; the court knows how to send the judgment to the Nigerian Army. When the judgment gets here, it goes to the legal privacy. There is a procedure to be followed. The court has already given a judgment and we know what to do in respect of it. The army must follow it own procedures in respect of what the court has passed.”
