Former Indigent Student Emerges MTN Cash Quest N10 winner

"I sacrificed my dream of studying Engineering because we didn’t have money, but now I can go back to school to fulfill my dream.” These are the emotional words of Chigozie Okoh, a 30 year old young man who won N10m naira from the ongoing MTN cash quest promo.

The first prize presentation of the ongoing MTN Cash Quest Promo turned out to be moments of tears of joy for winners as they took turns to receive their rewards in million(s) and other gift items.

The scenario was particularly touching as Chigozie Okoh, winner of N10m who hails from Ebonyi, narrated his life experience of how he had to drop out of school because of financial challenges. He hails from a family of six children. Being the first of the six, he had to forfeit his ambition of studying Engineering to pick up a menial job to support the parents in providing for the family.

All of this has become a thing of the past for him as MTN, an enabler and a critical national agent of social economic development has made his dream a possibility to achieve.

On how he reacted when he got the news of being a N10m winner, Chigozie said “I almost ran mad after I was told I had won N10 million. I have never seen such money in my life before.”

Speaking on how he intends to spend the money, he was quick to assert that he would use this opportunity to achieve his dream of becoming an Engineer by going back to school.

It is interesting to know that Chigozie is not the only one that fortune smiled on in the ongoing MTN Cash Quest Promo. Ikenna Ekeaku also won N10 million while Phibian Otache and Charles Ebochie were lucky winners of N1 million each.

Pope hugs little girl who asked him why God allows little girls become prostitutes

Pope Francis who is currently in the Philippines was moved to hug these two children after one of them, 12 year old Glyzelle Palomar, a rehabilitated homeless girl, asked him in tears why God could allow children to become prostitutes.
"Many children get involved in drugs and prostitution. Why does God allow these things to happen to us? The children are not guilty of anything.” Palomar said during her speech at a Catholic mass
Pope Francis who couldn't find an immediate answer for her question, got up and gave a hug. He later replied her and the congregation saying
“She is the only one who has put forward a question for which there is no answer and she was not even able to express it in words but rather in tears. I invite each one of you to ask yourselves, 'Have I learned how to weep, how to cry when I see a hungry child, a child on the street who uses drugs, a homeless child, an abandoned child, an abused child, a child that society uses as a slave?” He said

I used to sleep in buses & gatecrash parties to eat food-Sean Tizzle

In 2014, Sean Tizzle took the music industry by storm, churning out hit after hit..However, he says he came from the streets and had it rough before hitting fame .He told Nigerian Tribune why he is not ready to date anyone now..
Those days were very rough, but we thank God that we have been able to sail through. I used to sleep outside, hustle and fall asleep in buses. I also used to go to owanbe parties not to dance, because I didn’t have party clothes to wear, but I used to go because they had food. So at least at the end of the party, I could help out, get a little change, then go find shelter somewhere and continue my hustle the next day.
Is Sean Tizzle off the dating market right now?
No, I’m not dating anyone right now because I have to get ahead. I’m still not yet where I need to be in my career.
But where do you need to be before you go into a relationship?
I need to be 95 per cent closer to the path that I have chosen for myself, no more worries financially and emotionally. If I am going into a relationship,  I must be able to give her 100 per cent of my time. If I had  to be at so many places at a time, she would pack her things and leave me.
So, you are saying you have no time for ladies right now?
No, that’s not what I mean. There are not too many strong women out there who can stick around so long with a man. There are also some women who would believe that since I’m an entertainer, there would be lots of women swarmming around me. A lot of times, the lady in question would feel insecure, and insecurity messes up a relationship most times. She would call to ask ‘where are you?’ And If I tell her I’m at the studio right now and can’t talk to her, it would become a problem. She would always get upset. So, let me focus on my career now, and as time goes on, I can focus on other things
Are  you saying you don’t have feelings for anybody right now?
I have feelings for so many people right now, but those people may not have the same feelings for me. So, I have to approach it smartly, and from a distance, I would get to know who loves me and who doesn’t.

How brave victim killed bank robber who tried to rob him of N900K in Oyo

AN attempt by a two-man robbery gang to dispossess a bank customer of N900,000 ended tragically for one of them as he was crushed by their victim’s vehicle.

Crime Reports learnt that one Alhaji (name withheld) recently went to a bank at Iwo Road area of Ibadan, Oyo State to withdraw the cash, after which he drove out of the bank premises in his Nissan Pathfinder Sport Utility Vehicle. Unknown to him, he had been sighted by the two armed robbers who had mounted surveillance around the bank, in search of victims.

It was further gathered that the two armed gang members immediately followed the Alhaji on their operational motorcycle. On getting to Alakia area of the city, it was reliably gathered, the hoodlums blocked the Pathfinder with their motorcycle, drew a gun and shot at their victim’s leg, demanding for the money he just withdrew from the bank.

Shocked by the unexpected confrontation, Alhaji was reported to have fumbled to retrieve the money from where he kept it, but the armed robbers who felt he was deliberately using delay tactics to outwit them shot him the second time.

This was said to have discomfited the man who engaged the reverse gear and pressed hard on the throttle. In the process, one of the armed robbers was hit and he died instantly. Seeing that his partner in crime had been brought down, the other robber was reported to have fled.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Kolawole Shodipo, told Crime Reports that an English Beretta pistol with four rounds of 0.9mm ammunition, among other items, was recovered from the dead armed robber.

Choii.. Teenager set to marry her dad after falling inlove & losing her virginity to him..

A teenager has told how she became engaged to her FATHER after the two were reunited following more than a decade apart.

The American woman was estranged from her dad growing up, but the two got back in touch when she was 17.After chatting online for a few weeks the two met - and felt an instant attraction.

Speaking to New York Magazine's Science of Us the anonymous woman, now 18, said:
"It was so weird and confusing. I was seeing my dad for the first time in forever but it was also like, He’s so good-looking!"I saw him as my dad but then also part of me was like, I’m meeting this guy who I have been talking to over the internet and really connecting with and I find him attractive."
She went to stay with him for a week and after just five days the pair discussed their attraction to one another, before losing her virginity to him.

They are now a couple, have become engaged, and even plan on having children together.

Some of their family members are aware of their relationship - and treat them "just like any other couple" - but her mum is still in the dark.

But the daughter says she will tell her mother once she and her dad have moved to New Jersey where consensual, incestuous relationships where both parties are over 18 are not punished.

She hopes her mother will still want to come and visit her grandchildren.

Asked if she was worried about the potential genetic problems that could face their children, she replied

"I wouldn’t risk having a kid if I thought it would be harmful. I’ve done my research."Incest has been around as long as humans have. Everybody just needs to deal with it as long as nobody is getting hurt or getting pressured or forced."
But asked if she would tell their children that their dad was both their father and grandfather, she was less sure.

"We’ve decided that most likely we won’t, she said. "I don’t want to give them any problems."

Revealed: Why Men want S*x in the morning & Ladies at night

It appears there is never a bad time to have s*x, be it in the morning, afternoon or night, and being one of the most pleasurable obligations in marriage, couples have had it at such times some people may consider ‘ungodly.’

In as much as s*x has no definite time or venue before it can be enjoyed, findings have shown that men want it regularly in the morning, while women crave for it at night.

The question then is, why is it that men want s*x and are good to go for it first thing in the morning while the women often want to get in the mood late in the evening?

In justifying their findings, some scientists attributed men’s early morning desire to two things – hormones and because it could make a day better. The result of the study was published in the Mirror UK.
It is no news that men usually wake in the morning with an er*ction, feeling amorous, which is occasioned by the testosterone hormone in their body, and since a hard-on is also instrumental to s*x, that pleasurable act may just be lurking in their thoughts.

The study noted that a man’s level of s*x hormones is at the highest when he wakes up while a woman’s is at the lowest. Notably, higher testosterone levels equals higher s*x drive. Even though both men and women have testosterone, it is more present in men, known as the s*x drive or male hormone.

One of the researchers, Ashley Grossman, a professor at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London, said even before a man opens his eyes in the morning, his level of testosterone is at its peak – between 25 per cent and 50 per cent – more than at any other time of the day.

He explained that the pituitary gland in a man’s brain – which governs the production of the male s*x hormone – has been switched on in the night and its levels have been rising steadily until dawn.

Hence, a low levels can be linked to a lack of sleep because good sleep boosts the level of the testosterone hormone in a man’s body, which can often cause an er*ction and a tendency to make the men more aggressive in pursuing s*x.

“Women also make testosterone – the main s*x drive hormone – but produce a fraction of the amount and it rises by only a tiny bit overnight, and it is also kept in balance by oestrogen and progesterone.

“Men need only a normal amount of testosterone to feel like having s*x, and the raised levels in the morning means most men will wake with er*ctions, which informs part of the reasons they want s*x then.

“Studies found that the longer and deeper a man has slept, the higher his testosterone levels and research in the Journal of the American Medical Association shows getting more than five hours’ sleep can raise the hormone levels by an extra 15 per cent,” Grossman said.

While contributing to the study, a female consultant gynaecologist based in Birmingham, Gabrielle Downey, said male and female levels are at their highest at opposite ends of the day, so they are out of synch.

She said that while the hormones secreted during men’s sleep at night trigger their s*x-in-the-morning mood, it takes more than hormones for women to be in the mood. She noted that some studies have shown that a woman’s testosterone levels are likely to increase on the anticipation of s*x with her man.

This probably means that whilst at work or closing from work, women who envisage having s*x with their partner later in the evening tend to have more testosterone levels, thus, a higher s*xual drive.

Therefore, as evening approaches, while a woman’s testosterone level is heading towards its highest point, even if slowly, a man’s is dropping to the lowest level of the day. But regardless of the fact that men’s testosterone levels are now at their lowest, it is interesting to know that they are still more likely to have s*x in the evening.

“It’s been said that women need a reason and men just need a place – I think that’s true because regardless of the low male testosterone, they are still responsive,” says Gabrielle.

Should the s*xual act happen eventually, the bonding hormone, oxytocin, is released, prompting most men to sleep after the s*x.

The release of oxytocin after s*x aids sleep, which is the reason why many men are notorious for falling fast asleep after making love.

According to a love network expert, Ms Michele Weiner-Davis, couples should discuss how they would meet their respective needs since the time of their interest varies.

“Each of them should be willing to do it once at the time of day when the other is ready. And if they are really exhausted or in a rush when the partner wants it, they can say no, but suggest a better, but not distant time that will work,” she said.

Outrage as Saudi Arabia Publicly Beheads Woman in Holy Mecca

Authorities in Saudi Arabia have publicly beheaded a woman in Islam’s holy city of Mecca, prompting further criticism of the country’s human rights record, Independent Uk reports

Laila Bint Abdul Muttalib Basim, a Burmese woman who resided in Saudi Arabia, was executed by sword on Monday after being dragged through the street and held down by four police officers.

She was convicted of the sexual abuse and murder of her seven-year-old step-daughter.
A video showed how it took three blows to complete the execution, while the woman screamed “I did not kill. I did not kill.” It has now been removed by YouTube as part of its policy on “shocking and disgusting content”.

There are two ways to behead people according to Mohammed al-Saeedi, a human rights activist: “One way is to inject the prisoner with painkillers to numb the pain and the other is without the painkiller,” he told the Middle East Eye.

“This woman was beheaded without painkillers – they wanted to make the pain more powerful for her.”

The Saudi Ministry of the Interior said in a statement that it believed the sentence was warranted due to the severity of the crime.

The beheading is part of an alarming trend, which has seen the kingdom execute seven people in the first two weeks of this year. In 2014 the number of executions rose to 87, from 78 in 2013.

Fear of election violence: Politicians move their families abroad

In a bid to avoid being caught up in the violence that may erupt after the February 2015 general elections, politicians, many chief executive officers/chairmen of companies, top businessmen and several other wealthy Nigerians have started relocating their families out of Nigeria.

Investigations by PUNCH showed that some apprehensive politicians and members of the business community started relocating members of their families abroad few weeks ago.

In fact, it was learnt that many are still moving their families out of the country.

According to findings, medical check-ups, vacation, among others, are being cited by wealthy Nigerians as the reasons for their trips to stay out of Nigeria during the elections.
Aviation experts told Punch that passenger traffic in Nigeria is usually low between January and March but that is not the case this year.

The CEO of a travel agency, who identified himself as Damian and did not want further details about himself or his company in print, said many of his clients had made bookings to travel abroad for fear of being caught up in violence.

Damian said, “It is true that there is an increase in the number of transactions we receive; many people are making bookings to leave the country.

“People are afraid; they fear that there may be violence after the election. Those making travel plans are mostly businessmen. I am also running away. I will leave before the election and return after the person who emerges as the president of the country has been sworn in.”

Similarly, a popular travel agency on Lagos Island told one of our correspondents that many managing directors/chairmen of some companies in Nigeria had booked their flight tickets in anticipation of leaving the country before the general elections.

One of the senior workers with the company, who simply identified himself as Thaddeus, said aside politicians who thronged the firm to buy tickets, many companies’ MDs and businessmen had bought tickets from the firm between November 27, 2014 and January 14, 2015.

Thaddeus named the United States, the United Kingdom and the United Arab Emirate as the most preferred destinations of the MDs.

He said, “Some politicians made arrangement to travel out of the country after the election, while many of the MDs chose to leave the country with their families a week before the poll.

“Before the political parties’ primaries held late year, we procured tickets for the families of some politicians and we believe that they must have left the country by now. The politicians started procuring their tickets from the first week of this month.”

A human rights activist, Jiti Ogunye, said it is necessary that politicians refrain from manipulating the electorate and election results to avoid violence after the elections..

Ogunye said, “The first condition for credible election is the activation of electoral justice. Politicians should learn not just to preach peace but to do justice. If they manipulate the election results, there could be reaction of violence. So I advise that they play by the rules so that we can enjoy peace in this period. They should not rob the electorate of their decisions.”
