I Will Go Back to My Village If Lose – GEJ

gej1
President Goodluck Jonathan while speaking with AlJazeera, on Monday night said he was very optimistic that he will not lose the March 28 presidential election but should that happen he has no problem returning to his hometown in Otuoke in Bayelsa State.

According to GEJ:
“If by default somebody wins the election, of course, I will go back to my village. The country is not my father’s estate,”
And on whether he suddenly stepped up of military operations in the fight against Boko Haram because he was scared he might lose the election on the grounds of insecurity, he said:
“It is out of ignorance.
“In a political environment, if one party, particularly the ruling party, is going to the left, the opposition would have to go to the right. They must find something. They must have something to tell the people.”
The President, however, explained that Boko Haram insurgents were able to do so much evil because the military didn’t have certain weapons to confront them, but since the procurement of modern weapons, the security agencies would send them packing soon.
And on whether he plans to remove Jega, he said:
“Except somebody is insinuating that the chairman has done something wrong. You cannot change an officer, except the person has done something wrong. Government, whether at the federal or state level, president or governor, does not wake up and change somebody, especially somebody like the INEC chairman; except that person has done something wrong.
“INEC is a very sensitive body. For me to change the INEC chairman, Nigerians and non-Nigerians will ask questions. So, you cannot wake up and change the INEC Chairman.”
And on corruption, he said:
“Even the corruption issues –even if you look at the Corruption Perception Index…yes, people talk about corruption now because it has become almost a political issue. And when you move something to the level of politics, of course normally the issue is blown out of proportion.
“Yes, we have cases of corruption but it’s not as bad as people make it to be. Yes, we have cases of stealing; I always say it that, call a thief a thief. I am not staying that Nigeria doesn’t have an element of corruption or stealing.
“Start from ex-CBN governor who said $48.9bn was missing. What is the budget of this country for God’s sake? Our budget has been about N3.something trillion. That’s roughly about $18 to $20bn a year.
“And someone is saying we lose N48.9bn. If we lost that huge amount both federal and state governments would not be able to pay salaries. I don’t know how he came about that figure. The next thing was for him to reduce the figure. Up to this time I don’t know which is the correct accusation.”
What do you think???

Not a Good Day to be Gay!!! ISIS Throw ‘Gay’ Man Off Multi-Storey Building

Thugs of the Islamic State in Syria(ISIS) threw another young man from a building because he was gay – And the weird part was that a large bloodthirsty crowd gathered at the foot of a multi-storey building to watch the stomach churning act.

According to DailyMail:
The blindfolded victim – who is understood to be in his 20s – is seen being dragged to the top of the building by three black-masked militants while two armed but undisguised fighters stand at their side using mobile phones to film the gruesome murder.
So many people are seen in the streets to watch the man being thrown to his death that vehicles are unable to pass along the streets, although it appears the militants have erected metal railings to keep the crowds in line, giving a chilling sense of order to the savagery.
Lord help us!!!

Muslims in South West reject invitation to meet with Jonathan

President Goodluck Jonathan’s proposal to meet with a cross-section of Muslim leaders in the southwest at the Ansarudeen Central Mosque, Ajao Surulere, Lagos State, has met a brick wall, with most of the religious figures indicating their reluctance to attend. A source close to Jonathan told Sahara Reporters that, unless there was a miraculous change of heart, the meeting is unlikely to hold.

Sources said former Minister of State for Defense, Musiliu Obanikoro, had arranged the meeting. Obanikoro now faces growing public opprobrium over his inglorious role in the rigging of last year’s governorship election in Ekiti State. The former minister is one of several politicians of the PDP caught on tape as they ordered a top military officer, Brigadier A. Momoh, to harass members of the APC in Ekiti in a scheme designed to secure victory for Ayo Fayose, the candidate of the PDP.

In a telephone conference, the secretary general of the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, Ishaq Oloyede, lauded the decision of Muslim leaders not to participate in a meeting designed to polarize and create disunity among Muslims across the geographical divide.
Northern Muslim leaders, including emirs, had earlier opposed a meeting of all Muslim leaders with Mr. Jonathan. Their objection had scuttled an earlier meeting the president had proposed with the entire Muslim leaders in the country. Two major Muslim leaders in the southwest disclosed that a meeting between and Mr. Jonathan would be a betrayal of the general decision not to draw Muslim leaders in the country into partisan conflicts.

The Muslim leaders also remarked that Mr. Jonathan’s alleged gift of N7 billion to the leaders of the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) to encourage them to mobilize political support for the president’s re-election had left CAN in tatters. “It may take a long time before the wound inflicted on the umbrella organization for all Nigerian Christians is healed,” said one Muslim leader.

Another Muslim leader told SaharaReporters that it was shameless to go about distributing money that belongs to the masses to a few religious leaders. “We want the money to be used to better the lot of all Nigerians,” said the source, an Islamic cleric in Abeokuta.

One of the Muslim leaders also said it was difficult to trust Mr. Jonathan who had reneged on his promise to redress the marginalization of Muslims in the composition of last year’s national conference. “When we complained about it, Mr. President promised to redress it, but he went back on his words when CAN President, Ayo Oritsejafor, told him to ignore us.”

Some of the Muslim leaders stated that Mr. Jonathan had always ignored the pleas of Muslims for fairness and equity in appointments to top political appointments. “He never sent an invitation to us to meet with him before. Why is he now enthusiastic to meet Muslims [a] few weeks to the election,” one source asked.

SaharaReporters learned that the chief imam of Ansarudeen mosque, Abdurahman Ahmad, was given the assignment of telling Mr. Jonathan and his team that the southwest Muslim leaders were not enthusiastic about meeting him.

The recent tweets by Rapper MI has come to our attention and we found it necessary to address the issue. Quilox had a contract with Live&Unplugged on February 28th between 10pm-12am. Live&Unplugged contracted M.I as their artist for the night.
At 12am on the said day, M.I was still performing and majority of our customers were complaining and demanding the DJ as we had other events planned for the night. In the process, some customers left.
However, the management honoured M.I’s presence by giving him an additional 30mins and informed his management that he would need to stop at exactly 12.30am. At 12.34am, he was still playing.
Our management at this point was forced to take a decision at 12.45am and let the DJ start his set for the night. The 1st song he played was M.I – Bad Belle to show no disrespect.
Again, we apologise for any inconvenience caused. Quilox however is a business that adheres to it’s agreed terms of contract and respects professionalism.
We accord all clients and customers due respect irrespective of class or status. In order to resolve issues quickly we have a standard complaints procedure which involves contacting management directly or via email.
As we look forward to continue to render the best of services, we hope to avoid scenarios like this one, but in case any complaints are to be made, kindly direct them to info@clubquilox.com. We’ll be sure to respond promptly.
Best regards.

What Is Wrong With This Photo????

osin
APC VP candidate Prof Osinbajo was photographed by an APC photographer in his hometown in Ogun state, and also seen in the photo is an old man, who APC is saying is Osinbajo’s brother not father as earlier construed – Well, the PDP is having a filled day analysing this photo, and on the Pro-Jonathan Facebook page, Hope for Nigeria, they said;
“What is the difference between someone’s father and his brother, that Yemi Osibanjo will neglect them, even when he has been blessed by God as a Pastor, senior partner at SimmonsCooper Partners, a Professor, 8 years as Tinubu’s Attorney General, director in Bola Tinubu’s Alpha Beta Limited. How can you manage a country, when you can’t take care of your relatives?”
Did I mention that Prof Osinbajo himself shared this photo on social media? So my people what do you think???

I Didn’t Get an Invite to D’banj’s 10th Anniversary Concert – D’Prince

D’Prince
D’banj’s 10th year anniversary in the music industry was a big gig, but as one would have expected, a lot of Nigerian artistes should have been a part of the event but that wasn’t the case as lots of them were absent even former label mates(mo’hit crew). D’Prince, in a recent chat with Saturday Beats, said although he wasn’t in town during the concert, he didn’t get an invitation even before he left town…

According D’Prince of ‘effizy':
“D’banj is my very good friend and anytime I see him, we hug and talk. There is no beef between us. The truth is that I was not in town when D’banj had his anniversary.”
And on why other label mates were not also in attendance, he said:
“Tiwa Savage is pregnant and Dr. Sid is also not in town while Don Jazzy was in South Africa. I was not in town and even before I travelled, I did not get a personal invitation to the event.”
And on D’banj’s recent interview where he spilled all the details about why Mo’Hit broke up, D’Prince said:
“To be frank, I thought that chapter was closed about two years ago, I never knew that D’banj is still granting interviews regarding the split because I thought we had gone through the whole story, leaked e-mail, hearsays and the likes. I am so happy that D’banj and Mavin Records are doing great. I don’t want us to keep putting the fans in the mishmash. The fans would always be vulnerable. The fans would always want to be entertained and we would always be the puppets that entertain them.
“I think D’banj was speaking based on his feelings and the fans reacted. I will always have love for Mo’hits, DB records and Mavin Records because at the end of the day, it is the music that would keep us relevant. It is what brought us to where we are in the first place. We should all concentrate on our work and progress. We should love one another and not hate. There is no fight or war between us. What matters most is moving forward and making music. I feel that he was pressured to do the interview; he did so and expressed his feelings. I may agree and disagree with some of the things that he said but at the end of the day, I am still going to stick to love, peace and harmony,”
Sounds like a guy who really hates beef or what do you think???

Between Skales and Wizkid – Here’s What Really Went Down

w13
Skales and Wizkid made headlines a little while ago, blasting each other on social media and all that started when Skales, asked his fans on Twitter, to name the musician they would love to see on his new track – and one of them mentioned Wizkid…But Skales said that won’t be possible as Wizkid doesn’t have his time – Well, according to a source who spoke to Punch on the matter but pleaded anonymity said…

According to the source:
“They are not friends and they do not talk. Even the party they both attended recently, they did not talk to each other. Skales had been asking Wizkid for favours since they were both in EME and even after they left the record label but Wizkid always puts Skales on hold and keeps procrastinating. Whenever he tries to reach him on phone, he does not pick his calls and when he does, he acts ‘somehow.’
“Before Skales released his hit single, they were meant to have a joint project together, a Skales/Wizkid project but they could not reach a conclusion. Whenever Skales goes to meet him (Wizkid), he normally acts as if Skales is disturbing him. But the truth is that when Skales tweeted that Wizkid doesn’t have his time, he was only joking even though it is the truth. Skales got upset when Wizkid said that his home is also Skales’ home. He felt that Wizkid did not need to put up a show on twitter when the exact opposite is what is happening in reality,”
The source further said:
“I think it is just the normal quarrel between two friends and they would settle it. Skales is not taking it personal at all and he is back to work and that is why he released his song, Je Kan MO, which is also trending at the moment.”
And to some of you, who might think that Skales is probably envious of Wizkid’s success, Skales manager, Osagie Osarenkhoe, who also managed Wizkid at a point in his career, said:
“No one is jealous of the other. Both artistes are doing great individually.”
But why does everyone who used to be friends with Wizkid always say he isn’t loyal?????

Baby Kidnapped at Hospital Reunites With Real Parents After Students Pointed Out Her Resemblance with Another Student

PAY-Zephany-Nurse
A girl who was kidnapped from her parents as a newborn baby has finally returned home after 17 years and that was because she bumped into her identical sister at school.

On April 30, 1997, Zephany Nurse, who is now 17, vanished from Woodstock in South Africa three days after she was born, and according to the police report, she was taken by a woman when her mother fell asleep in the hospital and when the when the nurse came to wake the mother up, Zephany was gone – but her parents Celeste and Morne never lost faith in finding her, UK Mirror reports.
PAY-Zephany-Nurse1
The parents who kept their faith of someday re-uniting with their stolen child would every year celebrate their daughter’s birthday on 28th of April, with a cake with her name on it.
In a 2010 interview, the girl’s biological father Morne said: “I’ll never, ever give up hope. I can feel it in my gut – my daughter is out there and she is going to come home.”
And as fate would have it, the lost baby now 17years old reunited with her parents last year – and it started when school pupils started to point out the amazing similarities between Zephany and another girl in a different class – When her biological parents heard about this, they invited her over for tea and were stunned by the resemblance.
When she arrived, the couple were so stunned by her resemblance to their other three daughters they called police – and DNA tests later confirmed their suspicions.
However, a 50-year-old woman was arrested in connection with Zephany’s disappearance and has appeared in court, and the suspect is being charged with kidnapping, fraud and contravening sections 32 (4) (a) and (b) of the Children’s Act.
That’s was we call miracle or what do you think???

Nightmares over for student, mother who lost 3 kids on Benin-Ore Road before Goodluck came along

Sponsored post

26-year-old TimiAdeoye graduated two years ago from the University of Benin and was a frequent user of the Benin-Ore route. According to him, “traveling on Nigerian roads used to be a nightmare for me; I still remember spending twelve long hours on a trip from Lagos to Benin regularly since I got admission eight years ago. The memory of those trips still leaves a distaste in my mouth”, he continues, “but I had to continue because I had to go school."

Being a road that is the major link road between the West and South of Nigeria, it was appalling that it was in that state of decay. From 2006 to as recent as 2012, anyone who plied the Benin-Ore route would have easily testified to its horrific state.  The deplorable condition of the road aside, there were daredevil armed robbers who were lords of the night and perpetual residents of the area and it was inevitable that travellers inclined to always say a prayer to avert terrible traffic jam lasting hours, and loss of lives and property. As Adeoye aptly describes it, it was “hell on Earth”.

TimiAdeoye: Benin-Ore-Shagamu Expressway Under Goodluck Jonathan
Popular columnist, SonalaOlumhense once said, “If you are a Nigerian, chances are you know someone who has spent an entire day, at least once, traveling the 140-mile Sagamu-Benin City road, or been killed trying to do so.“

TimiAdeoye: Benin Ore Road during my days as a Student, before Goodluck Jonathan

As the legend goes, a former Minister of Works was reported to have cried openly while inspecting the said road once, calling it a guzzler of lives. Citizen upon citizen have resorted to pleading with successive governments on national television and through other media to see to the swift repairs of the said road.

Despite all these coupled with criticisms from traditional monarchs especially the Oba of Benin whose domain has been a major victim, unfulfilled promises continued to be the order of the day.

Sagamu-Benin is part of the Lagos-Mombasa, as well as Algiers-Lagos sections of the Trans-Africa Highway, and of Nigeria’s East-West Road. First constructed in the 70s, it was originally a three-hour route. Since it began to deteriorate, contracts have been awarded every other year by different governments. Somehow, nothing concrete has been done.

Then good luck came along, even literally. At last, the cries of Nigerians had broken through to the top echelons and the current government’s determination to get the road fixed and useable again was to put a smile on the faces of those who ply the road.
Tapping into the controversial Subsidy Re-investment Programme (SURE-P) funds, the federal government decided to fix the roads once and for all to ease the suffering of commuters.  In September 2014, President Goodluck Jonathan commissioned the Phase 1 of the road, spanning 75 kilometres. The second phase, as Minister of Works, Mike Onolememen explained had not been fully completed because of technical challenges but was commendably over 60% done.

An excited governor Adams Oshiomole of Edo state – a prominent member of the opposition All Progressives’ Congress (APC) – stressed that the Federal Government’s effort in reconstructing the road is “the most outstanding intervention the road has witnessed over the years.

A road that was once a death trap began to wear a new face and is in its present state, good as brand new. A journey of twelve hours and counting has now been reduced to a third of that time – four hours or less.

“God sent us his son in the form of Goodluck Jonathan!” shrieks Madam Veronica Omoregie who travels every week from Lagos to Asaba to buy goods for her trade that has sustained her and her three children since her husband died tragically in an auto crash on the same road, in 1999.

This transformation was even buttressed by a recent survey conducted by the NOI-Gallup Polls on the 8th of January 2015, which showed that 60% of Nigerians who travelled during the yuletide season acknowledged that the roads had indeed been improved on.

According to the findings released, majority of Nigeria road users found it easier to travel to their different destinations in various parts of the country during the Christmas holiday, unlike the previous year.

The survey read in part, ‘Overall, 69 percent of respondents were of the opinion that the roads had either improved or had improved very much.
As a result of the improved condition of the Benin-Ore road and others in general,  transport giants, ABC Transport Company slashed its fare prices in a widely circulated advert carried by The Punch Newspaper in May 2014.

It reportedly added the words, ‘The roads are getting better’, a phrase that is a true reflection of the government’s commitment to infrastructure and national development.
On his way to collect his transcripts last week, Adeoye slept for most of the journey in the 18-seater bus he boarded from Lagos to the university’s main campus in Ugbowo, one of Benin’s many sprawling districts. The inscription “Welcome is the best journey” on the lorry in front of his vehicle one of the few times he was awake barely registered until he got down – the trip was too smooth for him to care.
