PDP Didn’t Win The Elections In South East – Kalu Reveals

Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu, has revealed that Igbos did not vote for PDP in the manner that was portrayed in the last general election in the South-East, maintaining that the PDP massively rigged the election in the region.

Kalu, who was an ardent supporter of President Goodluck Jonathan before the elections, said this during a programme on Channels TV titled, “View from the Top,” on Monday.

He said out of the five states in the South-East, PDP only won elections in Ebonyi and Enugu states.

He said it would, therefore, be unfair to accuse the Igbos of voting en masse for the PDP.
Kalu said the people of Abia State voted against the PDP because of their feelings towards Governor Theodore Orji and the overbearing nature of the President’s wife, Patience Jonathan.

The former governor, who lost the Abia-North senatorial election on the platform of the PPA, maintained that he did not lose but that the PDP rigged the election.

He said, “The issue is that what happened in my constituency was a rigged election. Apart from Enugu and Ebonyi states, where the PDP had very good outings, every other state they won in the South-East was rigged.

“So, the Igbo did not make any mistakes, I feel bad when I see people blaming the Igbo. In the presidential election, the result brought out from Abia where I was, did not reflect the voting pattern of the people.

“In Aba, I can tell you and I will tell Jonathan, that he did not win election in Aba. The APC won the election there but when I saw the result, it was a different thing because the people were angry because of the attitude of T. A Orji and the occasional interference of the wife of the President. People were angry.”

Kalu said the PDP lost the general election because of its greed and superiority complex.

He said he and a former Governor of Lagos State, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, had planned to form a merger around 2007 but his political associates in the South-East thwarted the plans.

He said he was not surprised that Tinubu went on to form Nigeria’s biggest opposition party which finally defeated the PDP.

He said, “The PDP was bound to lose the elections because many people were very greedy. There was impunity; people in the party felt they were mini gods. And when you feel that God Almighty is no longer God and that you are the new God, you are bound to fail and that was what happened.

“The PDP felt that they could afford anything money could buy. My brothers, the Igbo didn’t understand the local politics. What you see in the country today was planned by Bola Tinubu and me.

“He is alive, you can ask him. He planned to go with the Action Congress and I planned to go with the PPA. We said at the same time, we could come back to the stage but the two governors we had from the South-East were not as forthright as Governor Babatunde Fashola. Fashola was the only AC governor at the time.”

Buhari slams military for hiring foreign mecenaries to fight Boko Haram

President-elect Buhari has berated the military for enlisting foreign mercenaries to fight Boko Haram.
According to Vanguard, he spoke in Kaduna while hosting the National Executive Council of the Arewa Consultative Forum, ACF.
The military has never been so incapacitated like now. It is a shame that the Military cannot secure 14 out of the 774 local governments in the country.
“What is more worrisome is the fact that Nigeria’s military has to rely on South African mercenaries before it could gain recent success in the war against Boko Haram. This situation is shameful and unacceptable.
“My administration will concentrate on three major areas on assumption of office, that is insecurity, the economy/unemployment and corruption. We will ensure we nip insecurity in the bud.”

Woman reveals how Boko Haram prepared little girls for suicide bombing missions

One of the rescued women from Sambisa forest, 36 year old Meriam has narrated how Boko Haram members prepared little girls for suicide bombing. In an interview with New York Times, Meriam said while she was being held hostage by the sect members, she saw how little girls were brainwashed into thinking that they will be forgiven after they carry out the bomb attacks
"The Boko Haram would recite the prayer for the dead. Then they would put on the hijab, covering the suicide belt. After they had prepared, “They said, ‘God will forgive us. Then, they would enter the vehicles, and they would send the women away.”she said. She also said during the interview that she had seen some of the Chibok girls captured in April last year at a hospital in Gwoza.
Many of the women who were rescued and interviewed recalled how they got pregnant by the sect members who turned them into sex slaves. Some of them had contracted the deadly HIV/AIDS virus from the sect members.

30 year old Yahauwa, who had just tested positive to HIV, was in tears as she shared her story
“Is it from the people who forced me to have affairs with them?” she asked a relief worker, tears streaming down her face.
Later, she explained that she and many other women had been “locked in one big room.” while they were held hostage.

“When they came, they would select the one they wanted to sleep with,” she said. “They said, ‘If you do not marry us, we will slaughter you.’.

Another rescued woman, 25 year old Hamsatu who is pregnant for one of the sect members said “They married me,”. She said she was forced to get married to one of the sect members while she was in their custody.
“They chose the ones they wanted to marry,” added Hamsatu, whose full name was not used to protect her identity. “If anybody shouts, they said they would shoot them.”.

Yana, one of the women who was interviewed said the sect members had “parked” her – a word many women have used to describe their imprisonment – with about 50 other women in a house in Bama, Borno State’s second city, with a population of several hundred thousand. Bama was occupied by Boko Haram last September.
Inside the house, “If they want to have an affair with a woman, they will just take her to a private place, so that the others won’t see,” said Yana in a singsong voice. She could not recall her age; a relief worker at the camp here said she had been raped so often by Boko Haram that she was “psychologically affected.”
Yana said the militants had forced her to have sex with them.
Her feet and stomach were swollen and the relief worker said she was likely pregnant, though her test results had not come back yet. Others workers here said many of the women had signs of physical and psychological trauma from being raped repeatedly.

We’ll resume our struggle if Buhari 'draws first blood' - Asari Dokubo

Ex-Niger Delta militant, Asari Dokubo says he and other militants will resume their struggle for the region should the Buhari administration  "draw the first Blood". Asari said this while speaking at the Annual Major Isaac Adaka Boro’s Memorial Public Event which held yesterday May 17th.
"Yes, a new government begins in Nigeria and a next phase of our struggle shall begin also. Jonathan Goodluck Presidency was like a restraining order now that restraint is lifted. However, we will watch and wait, let them draw the first blood and we shall determine our best way forward. Truly Nigeria will never be the same again the future is pregnant.

Should Buhari whom like pharaoh has determined in his heart to turn desolate the Niger Delta region, draw the first blood by undermining certain interest of the region then begin the systemic arrest, maiming and murder our comrades, continue the confiscation of our rights to self-determination and treat the region as a conquered region, then it may be honourable for some of us to die in prison or in the field of war as nobody is afraid of him. Let it be known that we were not defeated. It was Jonathan and his party that lost an election. We as a people, indeed the Niger Delta region alongside the Igbos were never defeated. We collectively rejected the born to rule and supremacist agenda which some of our brothers as field slaves and taskmasters supported yet their number shows that they are of little consequence, we must however not take them for granted"he said
According to him, their struggle and agitation was never about to become the President of Nigeria but about freedom from what he described as "false and forced colonial union"

"He, Jonathan Goodluck, was never in the struggle. He was not a product of the struggle but an establishment beneficiary of our struggle. Our struggle is not and never about becoming the president. It was not about being awarded oil licenses and mouth-watering contracts. It was not about massive infrastructural development of the Niger Delta Region. It was not about high scale appointments employment and empowerment. It was never about interventionist programmes and projects. Our struggle indeed is about our collective freedom from a false and forced colonial union that has remained divided and un-integrated. It is about our being conferred a slave status and seen as a conquered people who must exist at the mercy of the overloads and supremacist class using our own brothers as taskmasters against us in a Nigerian union. Our status in the Nigerian enterprise remains that of a conquered people living a slave and prisoners status. This is the collective identity we have as a people. Whether you are rich, poor, high, low, big, mighty or small, no matter how well dressed, well fed a slave or a prisoner his, he remains a slave and a prisoner who constantly lives at the mercy and dictates of others with his contributions and consent of no consequence. This is why we must now than ever stand up like the Scottish to determine our going forward for our platforms and reject our oppressors. This will not come easy"he  said.

Missing person Seun Aluko found. He was held by SARS

Seun Aluko, the man that was declared missing on May 7th (read here) has been found! He was being held by Special Anti-Robbery Squad, SARS, in Ikeja since the day he went missing. His family and friends allege that he was held by SARS for five days without allowing him communicate or send a message home. Seun told friends that he was beaten, starved & was not allowed to make any call.

What his friends allege he said below...
His account on his experience in that place is so horrific and inhumane. He said innocent Nigerians like himself are being held in that place. He said in a holding cell as small as a 3 feet cubicle, they had about 80 people in there and when an IPO came for regular
checks, he asked the inmates; how many people are here for genuine robbery case i.e. robbed someone or people at gun point, snatched a car, killed someone etc shockingly, only 2 people out of the 80 stood up. When Seun’s family went looking for him there, SARS officials denied that he was in their custody. Luckily for Seun, the deputy IPO was the person who was able to order his release.

22Yrs Old UNIZIK Final Yrs Female Student Thought Kidnapped Arrested For Internet Scam (Photo)

Mary Ozalla is an innocent looking 22 years old final year student of the Bio-Chemistry department UNIZIK Awka. She was declared missing a few months ago and her course mates allege that she simply didnt show up for lectures on a Monday morning. Her collegues got worried weeks later when her parents showed up in school claiming to have not seen her neither is she returning her calls. The entire department began to organize daily prayer sections for her safe release as they believe she have been kidnapped. She simply dissappeared without a trace.

But in a strange twist of event, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Thursday May 14, 2015 arraigned one Mary Ozala before Justice Kudirat. A. Jose of the Lagos State High Court, Ikeja on a 4- count charge bordering on conspiracy and obtaining money under false pretences.  Three other suspects, Nwokeke C. Chukwunonso, Shedrach Umeh and Uchenna Okpala are at large.

Her parents could not believe their eyes when they saw her on TV as a fraud suspect in hand cuffs. Her colleagues who spoke exclusively to Lailasblog.com expressed their disbelieve and shock

Hear one of them,
Mary was a born again. Infact we always teased her for not making up and for using her Chaplet and Scapula as her only jewelry. She dosnt club or party and actually lead a block rosary prayer group on campus at Garba square. This is very shocking. I am confused

Ozala, 22-year-old student and her co-fraudstersrs are alleged to have hacked into the email account of the complainant whom they fraudulently defrauded of the sum of N2 million.  When the charge was read to the defendant in court, she pleaded not guilty.

One of the counts reads: “that you Mary Ozala, Nwokeke C. Chukwunonso, Shedrach Umeh (still at large), Uchenna Okpala (still at large) on or about the 7th day of August, 2013 at Ikeja within the Ikeja Judicial Division, with intent to defraud conspire to steal the sum of N2,000,000.00 (two million naira) property of Capital Field Investment and Trust Limited. by hacking into an email account of the company's investor, one Ronke Okewole and fraudulently instructing Capital Investment and Trust Limited to withdraw the sum of N2,000,000.00 (two million naira) from Ronke Okewole's account to credit the account of one Ezeigwe Chinenye Henrietta with Zenith Bank Plc. Account no. 2009811047".

In view of the plea of the defendant, the prosecution counsel,   Oluwatoyin Owodunni prayed the court to fix a date for trial and also to remand the defendant in prison custody pending trial.

However, the defence counsel, Chibuzo Mwakobi, prayed the court for a short adjournment to allow him file an application for bail for his client.

Justice Jose subsequently ordered that the defendant be remanded in EFCC custody pending the determination of the bail application. The case was adjourned to October 12, 2015.
