Attendees listen as speakers from different faiths speak at an interfaith rally titled “Love is Stronger than Hate” at the Islamic Community Center in Phoenix, June 1, 2015. The rally was held in response to an earlier anti-Muslim rally at the same location.
An Arizona mosque was the site of of a “love not hate” event on Monday (June 1) to promote peace and inclusiveness despite anti-Islam demonstration last week where counter-protesters were shouting “Go home, Nazis."
Religious News Service reports that the Islamic Community Center of Phoenix said it was hosting a gathering that includes a multi-faith prayer service and speakers to “show that when one of us is mistreated, our community responds with a message of Love and Not Hate.”
“We ask that you bring a FLOWER as a symbol of love and care,” the event organizers said on Facebook. “We are better together, and together we are strong.”
Monday’s event, organized by more than 20 groups, comes four days after an anti-Muslim event held outside the mosque drew more than 200 protesters, some armed, who berated Islam and its Prophet Muhammad.
The rally was held at the mosque in part because two Texas gunmen who opened fire outside an anti-Muslim event in Texas last month had worshipped there, said rally organizer Jon Ritzheimer, an Iraq war veteran.
As that event unfolded, demonstrators on both sides screamed obscenities at each other as police in riot gear separated the two groups.
It was gathered that on Monday evening, about 200 participants filed into the mosque, some carrying roses, tulips and daisies.
“There’s been a lot of effort to divide the faith community and set us apart from one another and we want to demonstrate a strong message of togetherness,” Reverend Erin Tamayo, executive director of Arizona Faith Network, which helped to organize the event, said. “I am praying we don’t get any negative response.”
Most of those who attended had left by Monday night with no reports of violent flare-ups or arrests.
Among other co-sponsors of Monday’s were the Islamic Speakers Bureau of Arizona, Arizona Interfaith Movement and the Anti-Defamation League, according to the Facebook posting.

Terrified Coptic Christians flee from their homes following blasphemy accusations

Coptic homes in his village have been stoned and attacked with Molotov cocktails, a car has been destroyed and several homes set on fire

Coptic Christians in Egypt Coptic Christians in Egypt
Coptic Christian homes have been attacked and families forced to flee from a village in Egypt after reports that Islam was insulted on Facebook.
But some Muslims in the Beni Suef governorate in Egypt tried to protect Copts from villagers angered over alleged "insults to Islam".
Christian Today reports that Ayman Youssef Tawfiq, from Kafr Darwish in Al-Fashn, denies he posted cartoons on Facebook that were insulting to the Prophet Muhammad.
Nevertheless, Coptic homes in his village have been stoned and attacked with Molotov cocktails. A car has been destroyed and several homes set on fire.
Reports say meetings were even held in the village in an attempt to resolve the crisis, but this merely led to Youssef and four of his relatives' families being driven out of town. After this, a further 10 Coptic homes were burned down.
The Coptic newspaper Al-Watani reported that among those who defended the Coptic homes from the attackers were a number of Muslim youths. Police also intervened promptly.
Ishak Ibrahim, a researcher on religion at the Egyptian Initiative for Personal Rights, told Daily News Egypt: "Ayman is an illiterate person who usually lives in Jordan who was accused of sharing the picture by locals at his village in Beni Suef when he returned. At first, a case was filed against him and the people in the village wanted to charge him with a fine. They later changed their minds and decided they wanted him to leave. Ayman has three brothers, each with a family, and elderly parents in their 70s and 80s living in the village. All of them were made to leave the village."
He said local officials had authorised the decision to drive the families out of the village.
"There were two meetings, one at a police station and the second in the Mayor's house, attended by local Christians and Muslims," he said.
The Mayor, Ahmed Maher, is reported to have told the families that the police could not guarantee their safety if they decided to stay.
Ibrahim continued: "The violations of people who express their religious opinions and the persecution of minorities is ongoing in Egypt. It increases when individuals are accused of insulting religion, as usually the trials in these cases are not fair.
"The charges for insulting religion are very vague and do not define which acts can be considered insulting or not. For instance if an imam said that all Christians are kuffar, would this be considered insulting? Anyone who openly calls for violence and hatred should be the only ones charged."

2 Housewives with cocaine in their pr!vate parts arrested at Lagos Airport

sexy-woman-elite-daily
Officials of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have arrested two housewives for ingesting cocaine, packing some on their underwear and also inserting them in their private parts.
The two women were apprehended at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport (MMIA), Lagos, while attempting to board a Qatar Airways flight to China.
In their statements, the women claimed that they smuggled cocaine because they were abandoned by their husbands.
Priscilla, when asked questions, said that she wanted to establish herself financially to take care of her children.
“I am married to a soldier but he abandoned me 10 years ago when he retired from the army. I got married early because there was no money for me to further my studies after my primary education. My husband, who is a retired soldier, abandoned me. Since then, my life has been sorrowful.

“I sell female clothes and shoes to take care of my children. I met a man at the market who promised to assist me in my business by making me an importer. This was how we began to talk on phone. He gave me recharge cards and money to sustain myself. It was the day I was to travel that he told me that I would take drugs to China.
“He took me to a hotel where I was given the drugs and $6,000 to buy my goods in China. I could only swallow 10 wraps, so I forced some in my vagina and packed others in my underwear,” she said.
Uzoma who also said that her husband abandoned her with seven children, stated;
“I sell female bags and shoes to sustain myself and my children. My husband left me in 2005 and since then, I have been facing several challenges. I took loan to travel to China and in the process, I incurred huge debt which compounded my problems.
“At a point, I had no money for food, school fees and even house rent. This was what made me to smuggle drugs. I swallowed 59 wraps of drugs all through the night because of $6,000. I also packed some in my underwear and one in my vagina. It was a terrible experience. I feel so sad that I have to end up this way as a Christian.”
NDLEA commander at the Lagos Airport, Mr. Hamza Umar, described the suspects as desperate traffickers saying:
“these women are curiously desperate for ingesting drugs, packing some on their bodies and inserting in their vagina. The first one, Alaka Deborah Uzoma, 47 years old, was found with 1.180 kilogrammes of cocaine. She inserted 260 grammes of cocaine in her private part and ingested 60 wraps weighing 920 grammes.
“The second suspect, Chukwujekwu Chinyere Priscilla, 45 years old, was caught with 1.455 kilogrammes of cocaine. She packed 59 wraps on her body, inserted one parcel in her vagina weighing 1.285 kilogrammes and ingested 10 wraps weighing 170 grammes. They are both from Anambra State.”
“it is good that the drugs were detected here by our officials because China has capital punishment for drug trafficking. This arrest has saved them from death and the country from embarrassment. Their action is utterly disgraceful because as mothers, they ought to show good example for their children to emulate.”
