15 year old child bride accused of killing husband discharged and acquitted

15 year old Wasila Tasi'u, the child bride who poisoned and killed her 35-year-old husband, Umar Sani and his friends in April 2014, has been discharged and acquitted by a Kano High Court sitting in Gezawa today June 9th.

The presiding Judge, Justice Mohammed Yahaya said based on the formal request from the state government asking for the case to be dropped, the court had no choice but to drop it and discharge the accused. "I have no alternative than to pronounce according to law that the application of ‘nolle prosequi’ (unwilling to pursue) is hereby granted. In consequence, therefore, you, Wasila Tasi’u, are hereby discharged.” he said

The Maiduguri Int'l Airport to reopen months after it was closed down due to Boko Haram attacks

The Maiduguri International Airport in Borno state will be reopened today June 9th many months after it was closed down due to Boko Haram attacks. According to KSM news, Borno state deputy governor, Zanna Umar Mustapha disclosed this and said the state government received a letter from the Chief of Air Staff advising the airport management to reopen the airport. The deputy governor revealed that the first flight will land in Borno on Friday June 12th.

President Buhari fails to show up at APC leaders meeting to settle issues on National Assembly leadership

President Buhari failed to show up at the meeting the national leaders of the APC called for with the hope of resolving all the issues regarding the choice of candidates to field for the National Assembly leadership election which has already taken place. According to reports, President Buhari was meant to have presided over the meeting which was to hold at the International Conference Center by 9am but he did not show up.

Most of the Senators who were against Senator Bukola's candidacy as Senate president were waiting at the venue of the meeting with the president when the election at the Senate took place.

Senator Bola Tinubu, APC National Publicity Secretary Lai Mohammed and some APC Governors awaited the arrival of President Buhari who never showed up.

Saraki In Political Coup, Becomes Senate President

The fastest political coup in Nigeria's recent history has just been executed by Senator Bokula Saraki as he shunned the meeting called by President Muhammadu Buhari with all APC lawmakers and followed the PDP lawmakers and a few APC lawmakers to declare himself as Senate President.

Saraki was nominated by Senator Ahmed Yerima and seconded by Senator Dino Melaye.

Unless President Buhari takes a drastic step, Senator Saraki is the new Senate President. The deal is done!

According to List Entertainment, The certified email accounts of front-line Nigerian artiste and founder of Starboy Music, Ayo Balogun popularly known as Wizkid has been hacked.

“The following accounts; starboybookings@gmail.com, ayobalogunwizkid339@gmail.com and wizkidayo@gmail.com are currently being used to send fraudulent emails to business partners and other associates of the artiste.

“They said email accounts are no longer under our control and we want the general public to disregard all mails received from it. All mails should be sent to sunday.are@listentertainmentng.com or call08033480122, 08059932155, and 08115975110 to enlist the services of Wizkid," the company said.

Few months ago, Wizkid recently announced List Entertainment as his new management company for all business engagements.
