Robberies in traffic on Lagos roads - woman tells her story (photos)

This is also an appeal to the appropriate agencies in Lagos and other states. Curb the menace of traffic robbery now before these robbers start killing people. Talent manager Isioma Osaje shares her experience below.
'I want to give my testimony. At 11:30pm two sets of people attempted to rob me in traffic. I had just gotten off the phone with my mum to say I was in standstill traffic. When the first set of two guys yelled at me from outside my window to wind down. Unknown to me she immediately said a prayer for my safe return. I remember hearing that your best escape was to honk your horn repeatedly. I put my hand on the horn and didn't let go. And I called God in my mind to help me. Immediately I saw an opening in the next lane and swerved in, still pressing my horn. They fled.
5 minutes later three guys came to the drivers side window. Pointing torches into my car. Same instructions. Wind down give us something. Next thing I see something swing and my window shatters. At that very minute another space opens on the next lane and I swerve in while honking. They fled.
Many would say I was almost robbed, I say I was saved. Thank you God for your mercies.

13 Shocking Reasons Why Married Women Cheat

About 75% of divorces stem from cheating, either from the woman or the man. Men have been accused more of cheating than women, but you will be surprised to know even women cheat more these days and here are the reasons why.

1. Complacency

When you were together before marriage, you were probably miles apart and so seeing each other always appears fresh, but now you’re married and you wake up in each others faces. You always see each other and so couples don’t mind or pay attention to what the other does. Sometimes things that would have made you rush out to help her aren’t there anymore. When this continues for long, the bliss in the love reduces and women will want to find it elsewhere.

2. Lacking The Fear of God (Very Dangerous)

When a woman is prayer-less, goes to church only on Sundays and does not have the consciousness of God in her, any thing can happen. Majority of women who are able to remain faithful despite the challenges or temptations do so not because they feel their man deserves their faithfulness but purely because they do not want to offend God. A spirit filled born again woman who fears God understands that cheating on her husband is not just a sin against man but a sin against God. Being born again drags you to church services , midweek prayer and constant reading of the bible. These small thing may seem common but the constant awareness of the divine has reportedly kept the sanity of many marriages.

3. Not Helping Her Out

Before marriage, she probably had sisters who were taking care of certain things for her, but after she got married, she has had to do everything on her own, coupled with taking care of a baby, so from time to time, she expects the man to help with the chores but if she is ignored for long and she’s overwhelmed by the workload, she’s likely to cheat with a man who will help her out. Yes it sound simple but women are complicated. A woman who misses some simple things in a husband will unintentionally begin to crave that particular trait and once she sees it in another man, She begins to compare and contrast. She begins to appreciate the vacuum more and if she does not watch it, She will only come to her senses when the other man mounts her cums.

4. Not Having Enough Relationship/Sex Experience Before Marriage

A woman who has been around the block will find nothing spectacular about the next in line cock. She has seen her fair share and has realised that their is nothing left to explore. It doesn't really make much difference to sexual happiness whether you are an experienced lover or not. But there is such pressure to gain sexual experience that those who don't tend to wonder what sex would be like with someone else. Virgins are more prone to feeling the grass is always greener on the other side when they do have relationships. And, if their partner is sexually experienced, they're vulnerable to jealousy. 'They may feel they have to live up to their partner's previous lovers. This leads to the feeling they're always being compared and found wanting, which can make for much unhappiness. What's more important is to have had a wide range of life experiences before you commit to someone, rather than a wide range of sexual experiences.

5. Financial Situations

Women just don’t know how to survive without money and they find it difficult if they are unable to buy some basic things such as panties, bra, make-up kit, dresses etc. and usually with marriage, some of these things come to a halt or are reduced. She doesn’t get the opportunity to go shopping and all that and before you know it, she’s cheating with a man who can satisfy those needs.

6. Limited Expectations

Before marriage, women actually fantasize about marriage being rosy, like a fairy tale ending where they lived happily ever after, thinking the man will be so romantic after marriage, will lift them up every morning when they are pregnant. They actually daydream about this and when they finally get married, they realize it was indeed as it was, a fairy tale.

Reality strikes and they realize, it’s nowhere near their imagination and before they know it, they are looking for it elsewhere.

7. Intimacy

With time, couples become distant due to children, jobs and economic pressure, meanwhile, women love the intimacy and privacy you share together. When it’s not forthcoming, she’s likely to get someone who will provide her with that.

8. Sensitivity

Women are actually a bundle of sensitive “creatures” and whatever you do or say to them can have an adverse effect on them for ages. Shouting at her or ridiculing her in an unpleasant manner is likely to make her want to find solace elsewhere and by now you know what she’s likely to do.

Also if she finds a man who understands her sensitivity and surprises her all the time, she’s likely to fall for it.

9. Revenge

If you’ve ever cheated on a stupid woman and she caught you, then prepare for payback. Being cheated on is a very difficult act to forgive. For those of you who have been cheated on, you know how awful it feels. You feel deceived, hurt, angry, sad, numb and even violated. It also affects your self-esteem. At the moment you find out your man cheated, your whole body begins to shake, you begin to sweat, your stomach drops, and you feel nauseated. Clearly, it negatively affects your relationship, your mood, behavior, and your ability to trust the cheater ever again. When you have been cheated on, some of you may want to get revenge by making them feel the way you felt. This can lead you, to do the cheating next. The biggest truth is that cheating never solves a relationship problem. Communication, assertiveness and increasing passion and romance in your relationship are a much better solution.

10. Sex

When the sex gets boring and no more thrilling as it used to be, she’s likely to go find someone who makes her feel good. Women need to feel desired and experience REAL orgasms during sex. If women are getting bad sex, not enough sex, non-emotional sex, or "wham-bam-thank-you-mam" sex, you may eventually lose interest in the relationship and look elsewhere for GOOD sex! This creates a temptation to seek sexual or emotional satisfaction elsewhere. In my opinion, it's best to communicate your needs to your man with the hopes that he will step it up a notch. You can do this on your own or with the help of a sex therapist.

11. Weight loss/plastic surgery:

Male attention increases quickly after a boob job, a butt implant or weight loss, and so does your self-confidence. With all this male attention, your temptation to cheat rises, and it takes more self-control to resist some of those male offers. Once you realize other guys want you, your desire to act on it may have you feeling euphoric. However, be careful, act wisely and make your pros and cons list.

12. Financial independence:

When you feel financially dependent on your husband or boyfriend, it's more difficult to speak up in arguments or leave the relationship. The fear of being alone and financially unstable keeps you in a one-down position. Now that women make their own money, enjoy working, and are good at it, the need to stay in an unhappy relationship is not necessary. That feeling of power and independence can be like seeing the red carpet laid out for you; all the way to those other fish in the sea.

13.  Low self-esteem:

This is the most dangerous. Run if you see this trait in a woman. When you feel insecure about yourself, you have a need to seek validation from others. This can be in the form of sexual, emotional, or intellectual attention. When you don't love or value yourself, you may project that onto the person you are in a relationship with, and believe they don't love or value you. Even if your husband or boyfriend loves you greatly, you still may cheat because you find it hard to accept their unconditional love.

Saraki Replies APC Leader, Speaker Dogara Fires Too

The Senate President, Senator Bukola Saraki, and the Speaker of the House of Reps, Hon. Yakubu Dogara, on Monday described as baseless a statement by the former All Progressives Congress National Chairman, Chief Bisi Akande, that their elections on June 9 were sponsored by oil barons.

Saraki and Dogara gave their reaction in separate statements in Abuja on Monday.

Akande, in a widely publicised statement on Sunday, had alleged that oil barons who never liked President Muhammadu Buhari`s anti-corruption stance, sponsored the elections of Saraki and Dogara in a bid to stifle the new government.

Akande also alleged that some splinter groups within the APC were aligning with old and new PDP forces to launch a platform for the 2019 polls.

Dogara, in a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Turaki Hassan, challenged Akande to name the oil barons.
The speaker said he expected Akande, an elder statesman, to play his fatherly role at a period of disputes within the APC’s family by seeking ways to reconcile the factions, rather than attacking his person.

Dogara said that the allegations existed only in Akande’s “imagination”, adding that he won his election based on the support of his colleagues, his competence and capacity to preside over the House as the Speaker.

The speaker recalled that the first investigative motion passed by the House after his election was to probe the alleged crude oil swap contracts awarded by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

He noted that it did not make sense for him to back the probe of the same oil sector’s stakeholders Akande alleged to have sponsored his election.

Also, the Special Assistant to the Senate President on Print Media, Chuks Okocha, described the allegations as mischievous and totally false.

Okocha, in a statement in Abuja on Monday, said Akande’s claim gave a negative and dirty impression that the emergence of the senate president was aimed at sabotaging the anti-corruption posture of Buhari’s government and the ‘Change agenda’ of the APC.

He said, “Ordinarily, we would have ignored the report, but for the sole reason that some undiscerning readers might mistake the fiction for the facts.

“We also wish to state unequivocally that it was wrong and mischievous for the statement by Chief Akande to link what happened on the floor of both chambers to some unnamed oil barons.

“We dare say that the entire story was the figment of the imagination of the author.”

Aregbesola pays workers December salary

Osun State Governor, Mr. Rauf Aregbesola
The Chairman of the Nigeria Labour Congress in Osun State, Mr. Jacob Adekomi,  said on Tuesday, that Governor Rauf Aregbesola has approved the payment of December, 2014 salary for workers in the state.
Adekomi, who said this at a press conference he addressed after a meeting with the government delegation led by Chief of Staff, Mr. Gboyega Oyetola, added that the governor also approved the payment of the 30 per cent balance
of November salaries of some workers who were yet to be paid in full.
The NLC boss, however, said workers would not suspend their strike despite the payment of their one month salary out of seven months.
The Head of Service, Mr. Sunday Owoeye, also confirmed that workers had started receiving alerts for balance of November and December 2014 salaries.
He said this in response to an inquiry earlier sent to him by our corespondent through text message.
Owoeye’s text read, ” They are already receiving alerts for balance of November, and part of December, 2014. A journey of 1000km starts with one step.  The man who removes a mountain starts by carrying stones away.”
But Adekomi explained that most workers would not get anything from the one month salary paid because their banks would use the meager money for loan repayment and interest.
According to Adekomi, most workers will not have anything left to feed themselves let alone transport themselves to their places of work and because of this, he stressed that the strike would continue.
The NLC chairman said, ” We appreciate the efforts of the government to see that salary and pension arrears are settled without further delay . Our negation with government is that out of eight months owed us, the minimum we can take is give months to resume work.
“As it  is now, the strike continues while negotiations also continue. I appeal to all workers in the state to continue to stay at home until further notice.
“This payment is as good as no payment, because all deductions must have been made by our various banks. Because of this , there won’t be money for us to transport ourselves to work and feed our families.
“Until we have enough money to feed and for our transportation to work, we will not resume work. The strike continues.”
The governor had on June 14 promised to pay workers salaries  in a statement made available to our correspondent by his media aide, Mr. Semiu Okanlawon.
Most workers were  being owed seven months salaries but the statement was silent on whether the governor would pay all outstanding salaries  or he would pay part.
The statement read in part, Before  the end of June, workers would be paid their salaries.”
The governor stated that he had a great dream for the state and that was why he was in a hurry to begin many programmes which had earned him applause even outside the country.
He said further,  “The dream has not gone awry and it is a clear vision that Osun must be on its feet, self-reliant and be a reference point in Nigeria. The race to ensure development within the first term of Aregbesola was informed by the fear of what is happening now.
“Aregbesola wanted an Osun that is self-reliant. That Osun, almost two decades after its creation, could not boast of tax-paying companies speaks volume about the magnitude of the works that awaited the Aregbesola administration.
“But he did not shy away from this task of industrialisation. Within his first term, his government had caused investors to bring up companies such as the Omoluabi Garment Factory, Osogbo, Adulawo/RLG Technology company in Ilesa.”
