Stay away from Benue state, governor Ortom warns homosexuals

While hosting the Prelate of the Anglican Communion of Nigeria, Archbishop Nicholas Okoh, in Makurdi yesterday, Governor Samuel Ortom of Benue State asked homosexuals to stay away from the state, warning that his administration would not spare anyone caught practicing it in the state.
“Gay lifestyle is alien to the customs, lifestyles, and the belief of Africans and the church, even though it is being promoted in the Western world. I sincerely pray that a revival would spring from Benue State and produce evangelists that would drive evangelization in Africa and the Western world because the personal knowledge of the Lord Jesus is the solution to the decadence sweeping across many nations today.” Ortom said (Vanguard)

Governor Nasir El-Rufai sacks 20 Permanent Secretaries

Kaduna state Governor Nasir El Rufai announced yesterday through a press statement that he has sacked 20 permanent secretaries from Kaduna State civil service and has appointed new officials to fill some positions in his government.
“In line with its resolve to cut the cost of running government, the Kaduna State Government has announced the retirement of 20 permanent secretaries. This decision follows the streamlining of ministries in the state from 19 to a leaner 13, as part of efforts to free up resources to be used for providing schools, hospitals, roads and other public goods.
The government, which had at inception declared its determination to cut costs, drive efficiency and improve service delivery, is continuing the restructuring of its agencies. To ensure that the number of permanent secretaries is properly aligned with the new structure, there will be only 13 permanent secretaries for the 13 ministries." the statement read

Female Permanent Secretary's Action to Cause Fight Between Saraki and Buhari

There are indications of an imminent clash between the Presidency and the Senate over an alleged attempt by the Presidency to rubbish the senate president, Bukola Saraki.

Pro-Saraki senators are accusing the Presidency of instigating the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Anastacia Nwaobia, not to honour an invitation by the upper chamber.

Mrs. Nwaobia had communicated to the Senate that she could not honour its invitation without an approval by her supervisors to do so but the Saraki loyalists said the Senate had the constitutional power to invite her and that her refusal constituted an affront to the legitimacy of Saraki.

The Saraki loyalists’ belief apparently rested on the alleged ‘non-acceptance’ of his presidency by the All Progressives Congress leadership and President Muhammadu Buhari.
“It will not augur well for our democracy if the Presidency will not allow civil servants to do their jobs. We should not carry the crisis in the APC to the Senate,” a pro-Saraki senator told Punch.

Both Saraki and the Speaker of the House of Reps, Yakubu Dogara, had spurned the party’s directive on who to lead the National Assembly and had ridden on the back of an alleged alliance with the opposition Peoples Democratic Party members to clinch the leadership posts in both chambers.

The Saraki group said the ‘offending’ permanent secretary failed to honour the Senate’s invitation because she did not get clearance from the Presidency.

Investigations revealed that as of Friday the permanent secretary had yet to neither appear before the Senate leadership nor respond to the letters from the National Assembly management.

It was learnt that senators loyal to the Senate President were angry that the Presidency could encourage the civil servants to disobey the Senate.

But a source in the ministry confided in our correspondent that, based on civil service procedures, it would be wrong for the permanent secretary to honour the invitation without first getting the approval of the Head of Service of the Federation.

The source said since the permanent secretary reports directly to the HoS and not the Senate, it would amount to a breach of protocol for her to appear before the lawmakers without getting his consent.

Husbands and Wives in Nigeria are cheating like no mans business.

All hell is about to let loose as witch doctors from Kenya and Zimbabwe storm the country with sex charms.

A witch-doctor George Ubanda from Zimbabwe who is currently in Ikosi Ketu Lagos State says God is not at peace knowing that husbands and wives in Nigeria are cheating like no mans business.

He says many Nigerians cheat on their partners but his special charms can put an end to it. He said that his coming to Nigeria was by divine mandate. He claimed that God sent him to Nigeria especially to save celebrity marriages which break down every day due to infidelity.
When interviewed by newsmen, he said:

“People in this country have no respect for marriage. They always screw around. Where I come from, no one cheats. We don’t share our spouses. God is not happy with this nation so he sent me like Jonah was sent to Nineveh.”

According to George, his charms works in three ways.

“My charm keeps couples together. The first method is called ulunhoka (or runyoka). It causes a cheating person’s stomach to bulge and their skin to turn black as if they have been bitten by a snake.

“The second method is called lock – it’s popular in Zimbabwe. If you poke someone other than your spouse, you’ll become stuck to that person and only your husband or wife can free you,” he said.

“The third method makes sure your privates work only for your spouse. If you are a man then your manhood will remain limp and flaccid except when you are with your legally wife. If you are a woman, then your womanhood will become so dry and will never get wet enough for penetration except you are with your legally wedded husband. The charm according to him coats less than N10,000 each.

He said that many top society Nigerian women with randy husbands has patronized him in the past few months since he arrived lagos. He warned randy men who suddenly discovered that they can only have erections with their wives should confess to their wives and be healed.

He also revealed that he used the potent charm on his wife back home before coming to Nigeria though he insists that he will bring her over soon

“I want to protect her from men with lots of money. This charm locks her. I can’t cheat either,” he said.

William Chuni another witch-doctor, said: “Locking is used in many marriages but how it’s done is a secret between my clients and me.”

NDLEA coming for Davido over 'Fans Mi' video with Meek Mill?

Looks like it. There have been rumours that the Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency wants to question Davido over 'Fans Mi' video with US rapper Meek Mill which showed Davido handling substance suspected to be hard drugs. The rumours have been confirmed.

Speaking with Punch yesterday, the Director of Public Affairs of the NDLEA, Mitchell Ofoyeju, said that the anti-drug agency is conducting a full-scale investigation into the making of the video and an investigative panel might invite Davido for questioning if the need arose
“I am aware that a panel is working on it (the video). The panel was set up soon after the video was released few weeks ago. When our attention was drawn to it, we viewed it and we discovered that it was improper. There is no moral lesson in it and he was just advertising drug trafficking.
"In the video, he exchanged a brief case supposedly containing narcotics for dollars. He was displaying affluence in the video. If it (the plot) had climaxed in an arrest and possible detention, we would have congratulated him for partnering with us. But the way he portrayed drug trafficking in the video was a means to an end, which the end is a life of affluence which we disagree with.” he said.
“We are looking at the issue holistically. We believe that there should be a body that was supposed to censor videos before they go out. Those are the things we want to investigate and verify. Was the video submitted for approval? If it was submitted, why was it approved, with such content?” he concluded

Sunday Oliseh and the NFF, Marriage of convenience - by Aderonke Ogunleye-Bello

Article written by journalist and Sports development Enthusiast, Ogunleye-Bello. Read below..
Few days ago on my facebook wall, and in my usual habit of dialogue with intellectuals on football matters in Nigeria, we discussed the appointment of Sunday Oliseh. It was full of mixed reactions as patriotic and passionate Nigerians on Super Eagles, their beloved team. My conclusion, Nigerians are desperate for a positive change. Its been a shock jamboree this year at the NFF under the guise of propagating change and who says they are taking steps in the wrong directions.
They have entertained us with more administrative drama than articulated football programmes. Its all about entertainments anyways. It is no longer news that the NFF is getting set to unveil Sunday Oliseh. But the federation will unveil an inexperienced and jobless man.

Realistically, he lacks the experience for such huge position. Ideally, he should have started with the junior team to garner the desired cognate experience like Samson Siasia who grew from the ranks to become the toast of many Nigerians with his successes with Dream Teams.

No doubt, Oliseh is eloquent and as an experienced and accomplished footballer, he appears to understand the game as a pundit and through his write-ups. In fairness to him, Oliseh has indeed proven to be knowledgeable and tactically astute.

Having said that, we can only wait and pray to see if these talks can be translated into actions. However, anyone who properly understand the game can discuss it. Being a good pundit doesn't make one a good coach. In coaching, theorical experience is totally different from practical coaching 'Enu dun rofo jare' - Its easy to cook vegetable soup with verbal description.

Yes, Oliseh possesses the highest UEFA coaching license, abandoned on the shelve for a long time now, I equally hope that the knowledge acquired hasn't eluded him. However, I will appeal we give him trial and benefit of the doubt. Let's say its a marriage of convenience between the NFF and Oliseh. The questions are; why should the NFF appoint an inexperienced coach to oversee our dwindling Super Eagles.

When last did Oliseh attend a refresher course? Can he work with the National Technical Director, Shuaibu Amodu and the NFF Cabals? Why can't NFF make it transparent enough by calling for applications like the Ivorians and other nations rightly did? Is there any iota of truth that NFF practically begged him to take the job? As an apostle of local coaches for the national teams, there is nothing wrong in hiring him, but everything is wrong when we circumvent or short circuit the recruitment standard.

If Oliseh should fail and I pray he doesn't, Nigerians will come hard on NFF, with dangling hammers falling on them from many directions. The federation should get ready and immunize itself against the impending onslaught. Before you tag me a prophetess of doom, history has proved that inexperience may not actually pose serious challenge to Oliseh succeeding since cases abound of such coaches succeeding in the past, Jurgen Klinsman of Germany belongs to this category of inexperienced but successful coaches.

Frank Rikjaard and Lother Matheus are other great examples that come to mind. However, Nigeria's terrain is entirely different from Europe in terms of attitude and administration. They have a totally different mentality and attitude. Without our tribal goobledegooks. If their Coaches fail, they give them another opportunity to continue which is a rare possibility in Nigeria.

If a Coach fails, we will call him all manners of derogatory names that might derail his ambition if such a Coach is not focused. My greatest fear of this marriage and what poses as threats to Oliseh are his would-be employers, the NFF. Oliseh is the beautiful bride now because they want someone out at all cost and to also satisfy Nigerians yearning for the appointment of a local coach.

Will the NFF in its characteristics give the necessary support to Oliseh to succeed? Will they be patient enough to stay by his side if he fails? And will their marriage end in war, like past coaches. What are the antecedents of his foreign assist? Oh well, lets allow time to be the judge.

Undoubtedly, we will have it rough at first since he has not done this before. Even as someone who played football to the highest level, coaching is more practical than theoretical. My advice if you ask me, is that Oliseh should imperatively be mentally and psychologically strong and resilient to deal with the high expectations of many Nigerians.

During his playing days, he picked quarrel and insulted both the Federal Government and the NFF, before turning his back on the team. I hope such attitude will not come back to bite him on the foot. Oliseh will have to carefully work with the foreign coach to understudy the home front for a smooth transition.

I want to implore my colleagues in the media to sheath their sword and give him chance. Nigerians should be patient, support Oliseh and see him to greater heights. There is a saying that there is time for everything'. Any position, relationship or office anyone is holding today is just temporal.

Whatever you do in your tenure is what posterity will judge you. Sincerely, from the bottom of my heart, I wish him a blissful marriage with the NFF.

Mexican drug lord Joaquin 'El Chapo' Guzman escapes from prison

Top Mexican drug lord Joaquin "El Chapo" Guzman has escaped from a maximum security prison for the second time, security officials announced yesterday. Guzman, who headed the powerful Sinaloa Cartel, was last seen in the area of the showers in the Altiplano prison outside of Mexico City

The National Security Commission said in a statement that Guzman went to the showers shortly before 9 p.m. and wasn't seen for a while. Upon checking his cell, authorities found that it was empty.

A search operation began immediately in the surrounding area and highways. Flights have also been suspended at Toluca airport near the penitentiary.

Guzman was captured in February 2014 after more than a decade on the run. He faces multiple federal drug trafficking indictments in the U.S. and was on the DEA's most-wanted list.

Guzman had been caught previously in Guatemala in 1993, extradited and sentenced to 20 years in prison in Mexico for murder and drug trafficking. He escaped from another maximum security prison, Puente Grande in western Jalisco state, in 2001 with the help of prison guards.

The Sinaloa Cartel empire stretches throughout North America and reaches as far away as Europe and Australia. The cartel has been heavily involved in the bloody drug war that has torn through parts of Mexico for the last several years.

Sinaloa is believed now to control most of the major crossing points for drugs at the U.S. border with Mexico.
