I May Not Be Perfect But Nigerians Will Vote Me – Jonathan

Jonathan-Buhari-ok
President Goodluck Jonathan, in an interview granted an online news medium, TheCable, on Thursday said although he may not be perfect but voting Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) of the All Progressives Congress is a gamble that is not worth taking by Nigerians.

According to him:
“I don’t think Nigerians will make the mistake of voting for Buhari.
“Gen. Buhari, with due respect, is not the right option for Nigeria at this time. It is a gamble that is not worth taking.
“I may not be perfect as nobody is perfect. But I believe that come Saturday, the majority of Nigerian voters will choose me as the best candidate to lead the nation forward.”
He went further to say:
“You should remember the Ekiti governorship election last year. Before the election, many people were saying APC would win by a landslide. But we in the PDP were busy mobilising the grassroots, going from village to village, from town to town.
“The result shocked everybody, apart from us at the PDP. I am not underrating APC, but I think they are grossly overrated.
“We shall meet on the field. That is where we will test our true strengths. We are fully ready. You will soon see,” the President boasted.
Tomorrow is the deal day – who are you routing for???

Oh My! Winners Chapel Set Ablaze in Kaduna

David-Oyedepo
A Living Faith Church, aka Winners Chapel, in Giwa, headquarters of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State, was set ablaze by two unidentified arsonists on March 20, 2015 and the church was burnt completely, nothing was saved.

A terse statement issued on Thursday in Abuja by the President of Tarayyar Masihiyawan Nijeria (Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri Christians), General Ishaku Ahmed Dikko (rtd), and the Director of National Issues of the Christian Association of Nigeria, Sunny Oibe, entitled: “Presidential Elections 2015: Signs of what to expect,” called on security agencies to act fast to avoid violence in the area read:
“Giwa is the Headquarters of Giwa Local Government Area of Kaduna State. On Friday, 20 March, 2015 at about 2:30 pm, two (2) unknown hoodlums on a motorcycle drove into the premises of Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) and set it ablaze.
“The Church was razed to the ground and nothing was saved from the Church including the building. This action surprised the Christian Community, especially the Church members, as there was no tension or any sign of it between Christians and Muslims in the town.
“It is, however, a known fact that the people of the Local Government have not been friendly with the Christian Community even though over 90 percent of them are of the same Huasa-Fulani indigenes.
“The incident actually became more worrisome when no effort was made by a passersby to assist in putting out the fire. In fact, it was a Fulani herdsman that saw the fire and reported to the Police Station. Only one Policeman and a Christian volunteer that ran to the scene and attempted to put out the fire but of course could not achieve anything.
“This situation and the circumstances surrounding the incidence are a cause of serious concern. If this can happen more than a week to the Presidential Elections, what shall we expect during or after the elections? Is this a sign of what to expect or a dress rehearsal of a repeat of 2011 Post – Election Violence? This is a wakeup call to the Federal, State and Local Government Authorities, especially the Security Agencies.
“The Christians in the North, particularly the Hausa, Fulani and Kanuri speaking Christians, who are indigenous in these States and live within and among their kith and kin are in serious jeopardy”.
Hmm!!! Pray God gives us a peace election and post election…

"All persons who believe that never again should those who see us all as a conquered people; those who believe that we exist at their pleasure; those who believes our sovereignty must be continually confiscated; and that you and I are mere appendages in the Nigeria union; lead us again. Photos: Policemen allegedly assault young man returning from work

According to the twitter user who shared these pictures this evening, this young man was allegedly assaulted on his way back from work by policemen attached to Oworoshoki division. Read full story after the cut..

As written by a witness...

4 policemen attached to the Oworonshoki division assaulted this young man few hours ago on his way back from work. This took place around New garage/Oworo area of Lagos State. According to him he was walking home and walked past the front of a police vehicle to get to the other side of the road (This wasn't a restricted area). Just as he was crossing over, the policemen sorrounded him and gave him a proper beatdown, they even hit him several times with their guns while passersby looked on.

After the beating they threw him inside their vehicle and asked for money. They searched his wallet for money, but they saw his ID card and realised that he works with @coolfmlagos 's #CafeRoyal. At this point, for the gazillion time he asked them why he was dealt with that way and all the policemen could say was "we think say you be agbero, u know say election na Saturday, u no for cross our motor like that"... Long story cut short, this youngman informed them that the owners of Cafe royal own cool fm and her sister stations, he went on to tell them that he'd report the case to the management so that the presenters could talk about it and maybe get him some justice. This resulted in begging on the side of the policemen and with that they let him go.

I felt really bad for this young man because he looked worse than the picture says. He narrated his experienced with a broken body and spirit.

From illegal killings to assault on innocent citizens of Nigeria, some members of the police force have proved that they don't understand their job description or simply choose to neglect it. Some of them get away with these things... This shouldn't continue. Pls kindly repost this and tag relevant people so that this case will be investigated and the young man could get some justice to soothe his aching body and spirit.

Pics of Germanwings killer pilot. Was receiving psychiatric treatment until the day he crashed plane

Pilot Andreas Lubitz might have been suffering a personal crisis at the time of the fatal Germanwings crash, it was claimed last night. Reports from Germany suggested the 28-year-old was struggling to cope after a failed relationship when he deliberately ploughed the Airbus A320 into the mountainside, killing his 149 passengers.

The theory emerged just hours after police investigating the disaster announced they had made a 'significant discovery' during a four-hour search of Lubitz's flat, which he is said to have shared with a girlfriend. Officers refused to reveal details of the potential breakthrough but insisted it was not a suicide note.

Yesterday, Lubitz's boss admitted he had slipped through the ‘safety net’ and should never have been flying.

It was also revealed that the fitness fanatic had suffered from depression and ‘burnout’ which had held up his career. But, incredibly, he passed all his psychological assessments and was considered fit to fly.

In a blunt admission, Carsten Spohr, the head of Lufthansa which owns the budget airline, admitted Lubitz had slipped through the safety net with devastating consequences.
‘The pilot had passed all his tests, all his medical exams,’ he said. ‘He was 100 per cent fit to fly without any restrictions. We have at Lufthansa, a reporting system where crew can report – without being punished – their own problems, or they can report about the problems of others without any kind of punishment. All the safety nets we are all so proud of here have not worked in this case.’

Yesterday, as repercussions of Tuesday’s tragedy sent shockwaves through the airline industry:
  • Airlines across Europe reviewed safety rules and insisted that no pilot should be left alone in the cockpit;
  • Police urgently probed the background of Lubitz amid rumours that his personal life was seriously troubled;
  • Detectives said they had made a ‘significant discovery’ during a four-hour search of his flat, but insisted it was not a suicide note.

Last night police raided Lubitz’s family home in a small town north of Frankfurt and an apartment in Dusseldorf, taking away a computer, laptop and other files. Lubitz is understood to have split his time between the two addresses.

A police spokesman said: ‘We wanted to search to see if we could find something that would explain what happened. We have found something which will now be taken for tests. We cannot say what it is at the moment but it may be very significant clue to what has happened. We hope it may give some explanations.'

Airline chiefs confirmed Lubitz, who won an award for ‘outstanding’ aviation skills and dubbed himself ‘Flying Andy’, took several months off work in 2008 and had to retrain to join Germanwings.

Marriage has made me more responsible - Peter Okoye

Singer Peter Okoye says getting married to Lola, his wife and mother of his two children has made him a more responsible man. He says marriage has changed his perception as an individual but has not changed him as a member of P-Square...
"Marriage has made me to be more responsible, in the sense that there are certain things which I am limited to do as a married man. But I still remain who I am because marriage doesn’t restrict me from doing what I know how to do best on stage. In a nutshell, I will say marriage has changed me as Peter Okoye but not as Psquare" he told Vanguard.
