WOW! the World’s Tallest Man meets the World's Shortest Man

This is lovely. The world's tallest man, Turkey's Sultan Kosen, who stands 8feet 9inches tall, came face to face with world's shortest man, Chandra Bahadur Dangi, who measures just 21 and 1/2 inches.

The tall Mr Kosen, a 31-year-old farmer, stooped down to shake hands with 74-year-old Dangi opposite the Houses of Parliament in London. He told AFP that meeting Chandra was "amazing", although he admitted bending the long, long way down for photographs was difficult.

"I was very interested how tall he was going to be, about how far up my legs he would go, and of course once I saw him I realised how tiny he was." See another pic below...

No Big Deal Marrying My Ex-Wife’s Niece – Kwam1

Fuji artiste, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1, in 2012 wedded his ex-wife's niece, Opeyemi Adupe Fathai Marshal and last August, they welcomed their first child together. In a new interview with PUNCH, Kwam 1 says it was no big deal doing that. That afterall, if we all start tracing the lineage of some people, you would even find out that some men may have married their sisters and nothing happened. He also talked about being a polygamist and having no regrets whatsoever about it. Excerpts:

• You don’t always want to talk about the number of wives and children you have. Don’t you think that there might be a heavy ‘war’ amongst your family members when you are gone from this world?

When King Solomon in the Bible died, there was no issue among his wives and children. If it didn’t happen in the time of Solomon, it will not happen in my time. How many kids do I even have? How many women have I known? There are so many people out there who even have more than we can ever think of. It is on record that Solomon had 700 wives and 300 concubines. If somebody like
Solomon wasn’t crucified during his time, why do you have to talk about me? How many women have I ever touched? How many children do I have? Before you talk about me, let people talk about King Solomon.

• But that was during the Old Testament…

Well, it might be that another King Solomon has come. I might be another King Solomon in the making.

• Doesn’t it bother you when people talk and reel out such scandals about you marrying your ex-wife’s relative?

It doesn’t make any meaning to me. Do you read the Bible very well? The Bible contains a lot of things even for generations yet to come to learn something from. The Bible is a book of life. Talking about my personal life doesn’t make any meaning. If you start tracing the lineage of some people, you would even find out that some men may have married their sisters and nothing happened. It is not a big deal. If they didn’t kill them then, why would somebody talk about my marrying my ex-wife’s niece and such jargons? It doesn’t make any meaning. Life is about what suits you. I don’t want to be citing examples but the Bible has taught us so many things.

• Do you regret being a polygamist?

No way! I don’t have any regret at all. I was born into it. I practise it very well and I am enjoying it. That it didn’t or doesn’t work well for some people doesn’t mean I should complain about it. My marriage is beautiful. I am enjoying my marriage with Fathia. She gives me joy and she gives me reason to be thankful.

• So she doesn't mind that women are all around you?

Every woman married to a man in my kind of profession should understand the nature of the job. Fathia, my wife, is just the lucky one. She is lucky she is the one I have pronounced. So many women are out there and they want me to pronounce and profess such to them. But she is the chosen one. I am proud to say she is my love. She earns it. She gives me support and understanding.

• Don’t you even wish you weren’t this popular so that your private life would not be under scrutiny all the time?

I have never felt that way. I enjoy the popularity. I am just paying the price of stardom. I wouldn’t have wished for anything less than this. It is good to be popular. Jesus Christ is so popular. They give all glory to Him. The whole world gives glory to Prophet Mohammed. I am an artiste, people ought to learn something from me and they are doing so. I love the stardom.

Jonathan falls out with Governor Dickson over automatic ticket

The cold war between Bayelsa State governor, Hon Seriake Dickson and the family of President Goodluck Jonathan appears to have deepened as the battle for tickets of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Bayelsa State takes a new twist.

Speaker of the state House of Assembly, who is also a close ally of the governor, Hon. Benson Konbowei has cautioned Jonathan against interfering in the choice of senatorial candidates in the state.

Hon. Konbowei’s position comes on the heels of reports that President Jonathan, as part of the deal reached with the leadership of the senate, has insisted on the return of Senator Emmanuel Paulker in 2015.

In a clear warning to President Jonathan, the Speaker said: “Mr President is from the East Senatorial District and we are talking about the Central Senatorial District. We are talking about a senator representing central senatorial district, so the president should have nothing to do with the issue. As far as the decision is concerned, it should come from us.”

The aggrieved Speaker gave this warning in an interview with LEADERSHIP.

The president/senators’ deal was to the effect that two senators per state would be given automatic tickets. Senators Paulker and Heineken Lokpobiri are touted to be favoured by the agreement in Bayelsa.

This, however, does not go down well with Governor Dickson, who is insisting on the replacement of all the three senators, the five House of Reps members as well as 22 out of the 26 member assembly.

Hon Konbowei said in the interview: “We only gave him (Senator Paulker) a second chance and when the second chance was given to him he acted the same way, so why should we give him a third chance?"

Even though the brutal practice is now illegal in the country, in many African tribes, traditions are more important than laws and circumcision is considered a rite of passage that marks their transition into womanhood so they can marry.

Aminu Tambuwal Picks Up APC Presidential Form

Before now, everyone was looking at Gen. Buhari or former vice president Atiku as flag bearers for the presidential ticket of the All Progressives Congress, APC, but there’s seems to be a new turn, as yesterday evening, more than 80 associates of Speaker Aminu Tambuwal procured the party’s expression of interest and nomination forms for him.

According to Vanguard, Tambuwal’s entry into the race, was last night whispered in some circles as a change of strategy by party leader, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who had been largely considered to be backing Gen. Muhammadu Buhari for the presidency.
According to an Atiku associate;

“This shows that Tinubu has altered his calculations on Buhari and it gives us room to pick up support where it had been blocked before, What do we do other than sit down and enjoy it?”

Now, the APC has five aspirants in the race, which are Buhari, Atiku, Governor Rabiu Kwankwanso of Kano State, newspaper publisher, Mr. Sam Nda-Isaiah and Governor Rochas Okorocha of Imo State(although has declared his interest but is yet to pick a form ahead of today’s deadline for the sale of the nomination forms).
So does Tambuwal stand a better chance than both Atiku and Buhari???

Boko Haram: We Are Ready to Help But We Won’t Sell Fighter Helicopters to Nigeria – United States

The United States has made it clear that it won’t sell cobra helicopters to Nigeria, adding that the Nigerian Government can buy fighter jets from any other country.

According to the US’ State Department spokeswoman, Jen Psaki, on Wednesday said, while responding to questions from journalists on the allegations by the Nigerian Ambassador to the US, Prof. Adebowale Adefuye, that Washington declined to sell lethal arms to Nigeria:

“Nigeria has purchased helicopters that originated in countries other than the US and nothing in our decision prevents Nigeria from obtaining weapons and equipment from other sources,”

According to the Nigerian Ambassador to the US, while speaking with members of the Council on Foreign Relations on Monday, said:

“The U.S. government has up till today refused to grant Nigeria’s request to purchase lethal equipment that would have brought down the terrorists within a short time on the basis of the allegations that Nigeria’s defence forces have been violating human rights of Boko Haram suspects when captured or arrested.

But Psaki said that the US refused to sell the helicopters to Nigeria due to concerns about the ability of the military to use and maintain them;

“Earlier this year, we denied the transfer of some cobra attack helicopters to Nigeria due to concerns about Nigeria’s ability to use and maintain this type of helicopter in its effort against Boko Haram and ongoing concerns about the Nigerian military’s protection of civilians when conducting military operations. We shared those concerns with Nigeria before this decision and subsequent to it.

She assured the Nigerian government that the US was ready to help Nigeria train and improve the effectiveness of its military, as it has started sharing intelligence with Nigeria, began training a new army battalion and held numerous high-level discussions with Nigerian authorities on additional measures to best address the Boko Haram threat.

Patience Jonathan Dissed for Sharing Fake Rice in Bayelsa

Nigerians and their bad mouth o – How dare people say a whole Mama Peace would share fake rice for campaign (lol). Anyways, that the new gist from Bayelsa, that the First Lady, Dame Patience Jonathan allegedly donated expired rice to Bayelsa women.

The first lady was in Bayelsa on Thursday, to distribute empowerment materials and items to women, an exercise which caused a heavy traffic gridlock, halting social and commercial activities on the Yenagoa-Mbiama Road.
Women in the state gathered at the Samson Shania Stadium at Ovom, Yenagoa to receive the gifts and cheques, after which the first lady urged them to vote en-masse for her husband, Goodluck Jonathan, who declared for re-election on Tuesday.
Several bags of rice repackaged in bags branded with Mr. Jonathan’s photos, sewing machines, hair dryers, and tricycles also known as “Keke NAPEP” were distributed to some at the rally, and investigations have shown that most of the items, especially food items, had expired, and most them were later diverted to Peoples Democratic Party politicians for onward distribution exclusively to their followers, Dailypost report.
Hehehe!!! Who goes on to share expired stuff and expect to win that area, or wait o!!! Hope this isn’t to discredit the Jonathans???
