APC National leader demands public apology from Saraki, Dogara
It was learnt that the public apology demand is the principal among Tinubu’s conditions.
The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, has refused any move by the party to reconcile him, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the House of Reps. Speaker Yakubu Dogara until his demands are met, Vanguard reports
Tinubu,
who felt hurt by Saraki and Dogara over the election that brought in as
the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives
respectively, has demanded that the two make a full-page public apology,
using the national newspapers.
It was learnt that the public apology demand is the principal among Tinubu’s conditions.
The APC had officially chosen Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabimila as
the party's candidates for the Senate presidency and House Speakership
election, but Saraki and Dogara allied with the People’s Democratic
Party (PDP) senators and parties in cornering the APC aspirants to
emerge the National Assembly leaders.
However, an
extended meeting, involving the national leaders of the party and APC
governors has been scheduled for next week Monday or Tuesday.
“You
don’t joke with the man (Tinubu). He said they must make a public
apology to him using the newspapers. A meeting that will involve all APC
governors has been scheduled to hold either on Monday or Tuesday. Wait
and see what will happen. They have to do it”, a reliable APC insider told Vanguard.

Accept democracy as way of life, says Buhari President Muhammadu Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari
The president said this when he paid homage to the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, after attending the Juma’at prayer at the Lowcost Mosque, in Daura, Katsina State.
“If Nigerians continuously follow the tenets of democracy the country will always be at peace since democracy on its own with its institutions has the mechanism for resolving conflicts peacefully,” he said.
The President, who delivered his speech in Hausa, urged those who were aggrieved after the 2015 elections to seek redress through democratic means and institutions.
Buhari noted that Nigeria was adopting democracy from the western nations and learning fast by avoiding mistakes made when studying the weaknesses and strengths of those nations.
According to him, if Nigerians decide to be hasty, some avoidable mistakes can be made.

He urged those interested in elective positions to look for a political platform of their choice, declare their interests and the party would support them.
The President said that in 2002 when he joined politics, many people did not give him a chance because they knew his antecedents as a military officer.
He added that the 2015 polls had clearly shown that it is God that chooses who becomes a leader.
“It is not by power, it is not by wealth but by the Grace of God that I won the election,’’ the president said.
Buhari said he decided to contest elections because of his commitment to serve the people and not to be served or to amass wealth.
He added that he had served the nation in different capacities in the past and had not had so much money in the banks either locally or abroad or anywhere in the world.
He said all he had over time “is integrity and commitment to serve the people” and said that he would fulfill his promises to the people.
Earlier, the Emir of Daura, Alhaji Umar Faruk Umar, said he had known Buhari for his consistency which had become the hallmark of his integrity.
He said he was happy that Buhari was eventually elected as the President of the country after some trials.
The Emir observed that the President was not new in government and wherever he had served he always distinguished himself with integrity and in all he had returned home without a Kobo.
The Emir urged Nigerians to be patient with the administration so that they could allow Buhari to deliver on his promises.
He also urged Nigerians to support the administration with prayers in its new responsibility.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that earlier, President Buhari had attended the Juma’at prayer with his kinsmen at the Lowcost Mosque in Daura where the Chief Imam, Alhaji Musa Mansir, prayed for peace and development in the country.
The cleric also urged Nigerians to pray for their leaders at all times.
He also spoke on the benefit of Ramadan and urged all to extend the hands of fellowship to others as well as give support to the less privileged persons in the society.
Many residents of Daura thronged both the mosque and the Emir’s palace to have a glimpse of the President.

There is a town in Anambra where snakes visit people Isaac Dachen | 17:43 | 19.06.2015 Do you know there is a town in Nigeria where snakes visit human beings and are welcomed as great guests?
The House also proposed a Stakeholders' parley where Ministry of Education officials, educationists, parents, teachers, among others would brainstorm on the way forward.
Strange things do happen in this world!
This is quite true as Agu-Ukwu, a town in Anambra State, South East
Nigeria, has been discovered to live with giant but harmless pythons which are worshipped as gods.
According to a young man whose mother comes from the
town, made the revelation when he traveled to the town to visit with his
grand mother.
He narrates how these giant Pythons visit people's
homes and they are treated as great visitors and everyone is forbidden
from turning them away or killing them
Here is what he posted on social media:
"Hello guys, I traveled to Anambra State to visit
my grandmother @ Agu-Ukwu. It is truly a beautiful place, the hometown
of Senator Uche Ekwunife.
On my second day of the visit, we came back from the church around 9 am and I went to the kitchen to prepare food. Then I saw a giant snake trapped between the iron nets on the kitchen window while it was trying to crawl through the window.
I ran out, screaming for help but the people
around calmed me down and told me that the snakes are not dangerous and
do not bite.
That they visit peoples' homes anytime they like and the people do not kill them, rather, they are worshiped.
I could not stay in my grandmother's house as I have a morbid fear of snakes. I went to stay in my uncle's place.
Here are the pictures my cousins took of the snake."
