The National leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Ahmed Tinubu, has refused any move by the party to reconcile him, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki and the House of Reps. Speaker Yakubu Dogara until his demands are met, Vanguard reports
Tinubu, who felt hurt by Saraki and Dogara over the election that brought in as the Senate President and Speaker of the House of Representatives respectively, has demanded that the two make a full-page public apology, using the national newspapers.
It was learnt that the public apology demand is the principal among Tinubu’s conditions.
The APC had officially chosen Senator Ahmed Lawan and Femi Gbajabimila as the party's candidates for the Senate presidency and House Speakership election, but Saraki and Dogara allied with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senators and parties in cornering the APC aspirants to emerge the National Assembly leaders.
However, an extended meeting, involving the national leaders of the party and APC governors has been scheduled for next week Monday or Tuesday.
“You don’t joke with the man (Tinubu). He said they must make a public apology to him using the newspapers. A meeting that will involve all APC governors has been scheduled to hold either on Monday or Tuesday. Wait and see what will happen. They have to do it”, a reliable APC insider told Vanguard.
