Last of Yoruba 'horrible' twins (Ibeji Oran), Taiwo Osuolale has died

If you watch Yoruba movies, then you must be very familiar with them. After one year of his twin brother's passing, the other brother of Yoruba actors popular known as 'Ibeji Oran' has died. According to a LIB source, Taiwo died a few days ago and has been buried in his house at Owode along Ilesa, Osun State.

His twin brother, Kehinde died exactly one year ago, in October 2014. Both twins who starred in a popular Yoruba film 'Ide' were in their early 40's. He is survived by a daughter born to him by his ex-wife, Folake. May their souls rest in peace, amen.

Flood Control: Rivers State Govt begins demolition of structures on waterways

The Rivers State Government has commenced the demolition of structures which are impeding
the free flow of water along the creeks, canals and other waterways in the State. This move, according to the Rivers State Waste Management Agency became necessary to avert severe flooding which is already ravaging parts of the State occasioned by heavy rains across the country.

RIWAMA’s Director of Administration, Mr. Ian Gobo who led the operation, stated that the Sole Administrator of the Agency, Bro. Felix Obuah had in the past weeks warned residents and land developers in the State, especially in Port Harcourt and Obio Akpor LGAs not to erect structures on the waterways, adding that the National Meteorological Agency (NIMET) had listed Rivers State among what they called the ‘flash floods location’.

The demolition exercise which began on Wednesday, October 21, 2015, saw the pulling down of two structures which were erected right on the waterway of the Mini Ekere creek in Rumuobiakani, Obio Akpor Local Government Area.

Petrol price to come down - VP Osinbajo

Vice-President Yemi Osinbajo says that the government is working to reduce the price of petroleum products by encouraging and working with private refineries and reducing importation. Osinbajo, who is in the UK to sign the Nigeria-UK solar energy agreement, told Bloomberg in an interview...

"We are going to be unbundling the NNPC so that its various components are effective core centres and are able to do their business well. We are going to have private refineries at the site of the old refineries, so they can benefit from the available infrastructure. So, we think that in the medium term, we would be able to get cheaper pump price, pump price of oil would be cheaper because we would be importing far less refined petroleum. A lot of that will be produced locally.

“Now, we have well over 30 modular refineries licences, so we think a lot of modular refineries would come. Many of them, their major concern is feed stock, are we going to be guaranteed feed stock? We are working on that. Once we are able to deal with that, we feel we would substantially be able to reduce pump price and get the whole business of importation of refined petroleum and the NNPC just getting directly involved in business; we are going to reduce that. The objective is to make the NNPC play more regulatory function.

“They are options that are always there. But we think that there are ways we can raise our own potion of contribution to the Joint Ventures. It will only be a last resort and we have not come anywhere near that.” Osinbajo said

Women were not designed to get pregnant or give birth after age 30. That’s why there are more risks involved with childbirth after age 30. The reason women in their 40s have fertility issues is because the human body is not prepared for natural birth at that age.

But according to authors Christa Orecchio and Willow Buckley, women over 30 can give birth naturally by preparing their bodies before conception.

In their new book “How To Conceive Naturally: And Have a Healthy Pregnancy After 30,” Orecchio and Buckley say women over 30 can prepare their bodies for late age childbirth by eating right.

1. Preparing your body. Prepare your body for childbirth by practicing proper nutrition such as eliminating artificial and processed food. “Proper nutrition forms the core of this foundation and dramatically affects preconception health,” Orecchio and Buckley write. “Prenatal nutrition also determines the quality of the baby’s major organs and even her predisposition to certain diseases.”

2. Eliminate stress. If your life is stressful, your fetus will feel stressed out. “A good mindset is key,” says Orecchio. “You create your own culture, so communicate with your baby before and during pregnancy. Create enough time for yourself; have a morning or night routine that’s sacred to you.”

3. Add placenta to your diet. Orecchio, a certified nutritionist, suggests eating encapsulated placenta 3 months prior to conception to balance your postpartum hormones. “The Kardashians are doing it!” said Orecchio.

4. Be good to your gut. Orecchio recommends taking a multi-strain probiotic for 90 days before you conceive to prepare your gut to cultivate digestive enzymes and to help with digestion in your stomach and intestines. “Whatever imbalances you have, youth can overcome that. But not as you age. Then you have to do the work,” says Orecchio.

Who is After Saraki – The Law or the APC???

The Majority Leader of the House of Representatives, Mr. Femi Gbajabiamila, on Thursday said the ongoing trial of Senate President Dr Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal for false asset declaration had nothing to do with the All Progressives Congress…

Gbajabiamila, who spoke with State House correspondents shortly after he and some members of the House of Representatives met with President Muhammadu Buhari at the Presidential Villa, Abuja said since the issue had to do with the law, Saraki would be given his day in court.
House of reps majority leader, also doused reports on any leadership row in the National Assembly – He said:

“Everything that has a beginning, has an end. I don’t think and I don’t know if there is any leadership crisis in the National Assembly.
“I am not sure at what you are alluding to; I am not in the Senate. But the little I understand is that there is an issue involving the Senate President. That has nothing to do with the APC.
“That has to do with the issue of law and I am sure the Senate President is being represented and he will have his day in court.
“If the matter comes up, I don’t think it is an APC issue; it is not an APC issue at all.”

The House Leader also ruled out the possibility of the constitution of House committees causing crisis. He said:

“It would be handled by members of the House. The correct thing is that justice is done, equity is done and once that is done, then there is not going to be a problem.
“There are 180 or 190 committee slots while there are 360 members.
“So, whichever way it falls out, the important thing is the fallout that is not based on equity, then there may be a problem.”

However, a former Chairman, House Committee on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Zakari Mohammed, held a divergent view to that ofd the House Leader.
According to Punch, Mohammed, who is from Kwara State,said Saraki’s travails began soon after he became the President of the Senate, adding that Saraki’s case is like that of “a witch crying last night and the baby dying in the morning.”
He said:

“Gbajabiamila is my leader in the House, but he is being hypocritical. He is not telling us the truth.
“Even a blind man can see that as soon as Saraki emerged as the President of the Senate, he became a target.
“My worry is that it is the institution of democracy that is being weakened; in the long run, we will all suffer it together.”

But Mr. James Faleke, an APC House Member from Lagos, said that the APC had no hand in Saraki’s case – He said:

“Nobody is against Saraki. This is about law. The APC has nothing against him. As a matter that is purely a legal one, the Senate president has done well by going to court to challenge his trial.”

Prince Jackson Admits Micheal Jackson May NOT Be His Real Father

A Twitter user had taken a jab at Prince Jackson, the eldest son of the late King of Pop, that he isn’t a Jackson -The tweeter had said:

“Everyone knows you are a Rowe-Klein NOT a Jackson!! Yall should stop trying to put on a FAKE front and get real.”

Replying the tweet, Prince wrote:

“‘The blood of the covenant is thicker than the water of the womb’ I was raised by my dad with my brother and sister.”

While the tweet does not deny that Michael Jackson is not Prince’s biological father, it does make it clear that the late superstar is the only father he had ever known.
TMZ claims the tweet ‘damn near confirms’ that Prince isn’t the biological son of Michael Jackson.
And did I mention that the Jacksons are having a TV reality show coming up soon?
Yes they are – And that Prince and his siblings – 17-year-old Paris and 12-year-old Blanket – would make an appearance in a new reality show about the famous family.
The show according to them, would correct all the lies that have peddled against the Jacksons for so long.

Dirty Money: Very Rich Nigerians Lying Low for Fear of Buhari

Business is slow at the moment for Benedict Okafor, who sells luxury cars from a lot near the port in Nigeria’s financial capital, Lagos. Also, in the Nation's capital, Abuja, 333 miles away, the property market seems to be in a rut, with the habitual buyers — the very rich elite — staying away.

"I normally sold five cars every month before (President Muhammadu Buhari came to power) but in the past four months I have sold only one Toyota car," said Okafor.

Asked what is responsible, he said: “I guess rich people are now scared.”

Jide Agboola, a real estate agent in Abuja, also attributed the current slump in conspicuous consumption to fear: “The fear of Buhari.”

It’s not hard to see why, when Buhari’s promised crusade against high-level corruption has already snared a series of household names.

Senate President Bukola Saraki - Nigeria’s third senior politician - is facing charges of alleged corruption.

Godswill Akpabio, the former governor of coastal Akwa Ibom state, was hauled in for questioning over claims he had stolen 108 billion naira ($540 million, 475 million euros) while in office.

Sule Lamido, the governor of Jigawa state and Gabriel Suswam, who was governor of Benue state until earlier this year, are also fighting accusations of graft.

At the same time, former oil minister Diezani Alison-Madueke, was arrested in London as part of a British investigation into suspected bribery and money laundering.

– Stopping The Rot –

Buhari’s arrival in May appears to have given fresh bite to the fight against corruption, which has plagued Nigeria over decades of military rule then civilian administration.

Cases involving top officials that were long thought to have been shelved have been revived, as he seeks to fulfil his election promises of stopping the rot in the system.

“As soon as he (Buhari) came to power, without any direct instruction from him, the anti-graft agencies went into a frenzy, dusting down cases of corruption against some past officials which have been long dead in order to convince Nigerians that they are working,” Debo Adeniran, head of the pressure group Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, told AFP.

The move was predictable for many: Buhari’s previous time in power as the head of a military regime in the 1980s was characterised by his so-called “War Against Indiscipline”.

“Everybody remembers Buhari’s antecedents when he was a military dictator,” said Bukola Daniel, a Lagos-based political scientist.

“He was a no-nonsense military ruler. The fear of Buhari is now all-pervading and everybody is careful not to be caught in a corruption web.”

– Witch-Hunt? –

Nigeria’s main opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), however, is crying double standards.

They point out that the former governors of Lagos and Rivers states, Babatunde Fashola and Rotimi Amaechi, have both been accused of graft but are still in line for ministerial posts.

Instead, the PDP described the anti-corruption drive as a “witch-hunt” against its members and other “perceived political opponents” of Buhari’s All Progressives Congress (APC) government.

Party spokesman Olisa Metuh denounced what he described as “the relentless victimisation of our key members”.

APC dismissed the claim as a “worn-out argument”

Certainly, Alison-Madueke’s arrest in particular has underlined to Nigeria’s elite that it’s no longer business as usual — even if Abuja has denied any direct involvement.

But Adeniran and others said Buhari needed to go further to avoid accusations of posturing.

Clement Nwankwo, head of the Policy and Legal Advocacy Centre, a pro-democracy group, said securing convictions would prove the situation was not just “rhetoric”.

“The challenge to corruption has to be systematic. That I have not seen,” he said.

“We also cannot fight corruption with the judiciary we have today,” he added, explaining the courts were at the moment ill-equipped to deal with corruption cases, especially against very rich men.

Man jumps over Obalende bridge, dies ...

An unidentified Hausa Youth jumped over the Obalende Bridge, Lagos, on Thursday at about 6:30pm and died instantly, on sighting operatives of the Lagos State Taskforce on Environmental Sanitation and Special Offences, thinking that they were after him.

Pm News reports that, Taskforce Officials stormed Obalende to enforce the law on Environmental Sanitation when the incident occurred.

A trader who identified himself simply as John said the deceased from Adamawa State, North East Nigeria, was watching the Taskforce Officials from atop the bridge as they were dislodging street traders and illegal motorcycle operators under the bridge beside the Oando Filling Station when he suddenly sighted another Taskforce Officials’ patrol van in the opposite direction.

The trader said, thinking that the Taskforce Officials would arrest him, the deceased in a bid to escape jumped over the bridge and landed on top of the iron beautification barriers under the bridge.

He sustained serious injuries on his head and other parts of his body and died instantly.

The trader stated that immediately the incident occurred a mob attacked the Taskforce officials, vandalized their vehicle and pursued them towards the 3rd Mainland Bridge.

The witness said the Taskforce Officials were able to escape the irate mobs by shooting in the air to scare them away.

Buhari is not shy around women - Femi Adesina

Earlier today, there were reports that a source in the presidency identified as Gideon Samani said that Pres. Buhari is usually shy around women. Well, the presidency has time to respond to it. Presidential spokesperson Femi Adesina released a statement saying it's not true. Read statement below...

The claim that President Muhammadu Buhari is shy around women, purportedly made by one Gideon Samani yesterday and published by a national newspaper today is totally fallacious. The subsequent attribution of the supposedly "low number" of female ministerial nominees to President Buhari's alleged shyness around women is therefore baseless and a figment of the imagination of the said Mr. Samani, who was falsely described as the "Senior Special Assistant (Political Matters) to the President.
The assertion by the alleged Presidential Aide that President Buhari is "very shy dealing with the opposite sex" because "he has been interacting mostly with men," was received by the President with shock and consternation. For one thing, there is no Senior Special Assistant, Political Matters, in the office of the President for now and Mr. Samani who was said to have spoken as the Representative of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation at a public function yesterday, is not an aide of the President.

Mr Samani is certainly not an official spokesman of the President. Therefore, he could not have spoken on behalf of President Buhari, who is the President of all Nigerians, men and women alike. President Buhari has a wife, many daughters and female relatives whom he loves dearly. He also had a mother that he adored. How then could he be shy in the company of women, to the point of allegedly not appointing them into public offices, on account of not being comfortable in their company? Nigerian women can be assured that the President holds them in the highest esteem and will always give them due consideration in the discharge of his official responsibilities. The statements attributed to Mr Samani are untrue and unauthorized. They should therefore be disregarded.
