Cambridge Assessment, now known as the University of Cambridge Local Examinations Syndicate, UCLES, has provided more information as regards the West African School Certificate, WASC, results, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, presented.
Buhari’s critics had stated that the result grades for the examination in 1961 were issued in letters, not numbers but Cambridge Assessment, in a new post on its website stated that it was in letters.
The post which revealed that “Examination results were classed in grades from 1 to 9,” explained that “1, 2,3,4,5 & 6 indicate a Pass with Credit; 7 & 8 indicate a Pass; 9 indicate a Failure.”
The result presented by Buhari indicates he had credits in English Language, Geography, Health Science, Hausa Language; failed in Mathematics and Woodwork, and had a pass in Literature in English.
According to the university, all a candidate needed to qualify for its certificate in 1961, was a pass in English, and not necessarily Mathematics, the post read.
“Our records show that Hausa was set in the Northern Region in 1961,” Cambridge said while confirming that result grades in 1961 were issued in numbers as against letters, as some critics had argued on the contrary.
Can we now MOVE over to other distractions or are we still going to dwell on the certificate issue???
