The lecturer, who resides at Igbanke, Orhiowmon Local Government Area of Edo State, was on June 16, 2015 abducted and the development has kept students out of school since Friday – While members of the Academic Staff Union of Nigerian Universities (ASUU), Ekpoma chapter staged a protest yesterday for the release of their colleague.
The AUU ASUU Chairman, Prof. Fred Esumeh told newsmen that the essence of the protest was to bring to light, the incessant kidnapping of its members or spouses of members in Ekpoma and environs.

“Teaching and learning cannot take place in an environment where fear reigns supreme and insecurity is the order of the day.Na wa, insecurity in every nook and cranny of Nigeria – So sad…
“We believe that this ugly trend has become pervasive and almost a normal thing because little or nothing has been done to apprehend the hoodlums as they seem to be having a field day in their nefarious business.”
