Senate President reportedly begs Obasanjo to reconcile him with Buhari, APC

Saraki had fallen out with the APC after he defied the party leadership to contest for the Senate Presidency and emerged victorious after garnering votes from Senator-members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).

Senate President, Bukola Saraki, today, June 18, 2015, held a closed-door meeting with former President, Olusegun Obasanjo.
Saraki is said to have met with Obasanjo to urge the latter to broker a reconciliation between him, the All Progressives Congress (APC) and President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Premium Times.
Saraki had fallen out with the APC after he defied the party leadership to contest for the Senate Presidency and emerged victorious after garnering votes from Senator-members of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP).
The Senate President reportedly told Obasanjo that there had been a “complete communication breakdown between him, the president and the party” despite their supposed acceptance of his victory.
Obasanjo is said to have told Saraki and his entourage that “you children of nowadays only run to elders when you have finished making the damage”

Golden Eaglets' Head Coach, Emmanuel Amuneke, had advised aspiring footballers to take their education serious even as they build a footballing career.
Amuneke, an E-Super Eagles star, gave the advice while addressing young Nigerian children showing off their skills at the NFF/FIFA Goal Project Pitch in Abuja where the Golden Eaglets' technical crew is talent hunting ahead of the 2015 FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
"In fact, it would be good if some of you can face your education squarely," Amuneke said.
"Again, for those of you who can play football, you still have to go to school so that you can be useful when you can no longer play football and that is the truth we owe you people."
Amuneke, who won the 1994 African Footballer of the Year Award., had an illustrious career with the Nigerian senior team.

Ex-Super Eagles midfielder, Sunday Oliseh has revealed that African pop twin Psquare is his favourite artistes.
The former Juventus midfielder ran into the music stars and took to his official Twitter page to share the moment.
"Hooking up with one of My favourite artists p-square (Peter & paul) Lovely guys & Ambassadors ," Oliseh wrote alongside a photo of him and the twins.
Paul and Peter will also be excited to meet the legend who won an African Nations Cup title (1994) and an Olympic gold medal (Atlanta 96) with Nigeria.
He also had a successful club career, paying for a host of big European sides- AFC Ajax, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus F.C.

Yoruba language to become compulsory subject in public, private schools

Lagos lawmakers have asked Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to make the teaching of Yoruba language compulsory in all schools within the state.

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Thursday posed a request before Ambode seeking a resumption of compulsory teaching of Yoruba language, requiring all public and private primary and secondary schools to build the Language into their curricula.

The house had adopted a resolution on motion moved by a member representing Alimosho Constituency 1, Bisi Yusuf, to revive teaching of the language in schools in the state.

The lawmakers also agreed to organise competitions among pupils and students in their various constituencies to promote the teaching and fluent speaking of the language.

Emenike's father was buried at their home town in Imo State.
Several high profile friends of the former Spartak Moscow player like pop star Kcee, were in attendace.
The late Pa Felix Ndukwu  Emenike is the person the striker owes his football career to.
In a recent interview, Emenike revealed that his late father, convinced him to join the Super Eagles.
"I will miss my father for his advice. He was the one who compelled me to play for Nigeria as he warned me not to honour invitation to play for any country no matter what," Emenike is quoted to say be several reports.
"He told me I will be great, and after the AFCON 2013, he asked‎ me if I regretted playing for Nigeria, I just smiled and said 'no'.
"He always showed me the right way, and I have never regretted any of his advice.
"This is a man who has seen a brighter future for me and he always told me, my life begins after football.

A Congolese Officer Is Crushing On Omotola Jalade


Nollywood Superstar Actress, Omotola Jalade Ekehinde traveled to Kinshasha, Congo for the CINEF 2015 Film Festival in the city.

An immigration officer in Congo who met the actress at the airport decided to express his feelings for Omotola through mail.
