At least, every Nigerian that heard of the ceasefire deal and the hope of the Chibok girls being released on Monday were definitely elated with the news but less than 24 hours after, Boko Haram sect, attacked two communities in Borno State.

It was announced on Friday that the Islamic sect and the military had agreed to a ceasefire deal, however recent reports claim that, about 20 Boko Haram fighters in two pick-up vans stormed Maikadiri in Abadam Local Government Area, northern part of Borno on Friday evening, shooting into homes, Punch reports.
A member of the local vigilance group, Adam Kolo, said the sect in this latest attack, killed the father of the former Speaker of Borno State House of Assembly, Goni Ali-Modu.
Also in a renewed attack on Shaffa, Hawul Local Government Area, south of Borno on Saturday morning, scores of Boko Haram insurgents rode to a village near the town in the early hours of the day, shooting indiscriminately.
The more I try to understand this whole insurgency mess, the less I can – The question is, was there truly a ceasefire deal?
