Respect Ceasefire Deal – Obama to Nigerians

Barrack Obama, has urged all parties involved in the ceasefire deal agreed on between the federal government and the Boko Haram sect to be obey the details of the deal.

President Obama, through the deputy spokesperson of the State Department, Ms. Marie Harf, in Washington DC, on Tuesday, noted that it would be a thing of joy for the American government if the federal government and members of the Boko Haram sect maintain such a ceasefire.
Ms Harf, pleaded with parties involved in the deal to do all they can in order to ensure that peace returns to the Nigeria’s northeast.

“We confirm reports that a ceasefire has been announced and it appears to have been put into place. We would welcome that ceasefire and call on all parties both to implement and maintain such a ceasefire, and hope that such a ceasefire would herald the return of peace to the northeast. This is a region that has had far too little of that… It’s our understanding that negotiations about a deal to release the girls will continue,” .
